May be another Syndicate

If they kept to the originals (hahahahah, right), it would rock.

Another game that will be bastardized for the console kiddies.

In the past I would have said that it would become like X Com Enforcer or FOPOS, but Bethesda has given us a new example of bastardization; it will become like Fallout 3!

well, to be fair, Syndicate Wars doesn't need to be dumbed down much to be decent for console gamers. it might not actually be that bad.

that said, if Molyneux is on the ball, hehe, anything could happen.

such a big surprise that the PC intro is much deeper than the console one. :)

If I recall correctly, Molyneux had nothing to do with Syndicate Wars, just the original Syndicate. Common sense would say this will be alot more complex and ambitious that SW, since Molyneux is there. Lionhead studios has hated him for his high expectations and unrealistic goals, but this will be under EA, with a huge staff that will probably cater to him, especially after the release of Fable 2. EA is bankrupt of artistic integrity and output, Molyneux is what they need now and they know it, and won't take his presence lightly. After the failed takeover of Take-Two, EA is more than likely scratching at the walls for profits and new ventures. This, analytically, is in my opinion an awesome outcome for us.

Ok, I have to stop taking Wikipedia seriously. Ignore everything I've said.

heh, this thread just made me play the first Syndicate for 5 straight hours.

I remember playing the first one back in high school. Great game... although it'll probably get massacred in the update.

I know, I just can't see how Hungry Hungry Hippoes can translate into a modern story.

I think that Syndicate and Syndicate Wars was an embodiment of positive aspects of "next-gen" gaming. It's simple, atmospheric, pretty and addictive. Maybe they'll manage to make a decent sequel.

The most important aspect of Syndicate to reproduce would be the atmosphere and the art design, your right, but it would be favorable if they put some more complicated tactical elements in. I personally wouldn't mind if the format changed alittle, because point and click shooting isn't really the opus of intelligent game design.
