FO3 engine. Why did you think it would look different?

I didn't know that the Gamebryo engine is incapable of creating shadows or making faces that look like they belong in a game released in 2010  .

I didn't expect it to look different, I merely expected it to look decent.

It's not really...I mean it's the Gamebryo engine, it has the same capabilities, but remember Obsidian is working with Bethesda's modification of the Gamebryo engine. So much has been piled on from Oblivion to Fallout 3 to New Vegas that I think it might be hard to thread back, undo the changes and add in all-new capabilities. Or, to put it differently: it's a more complete but older engine than if you start with a new, raw copy of the latest version of GameBryo, which'd allow for more experimentation but would take years more to complete.

Let me rephrase that: we know that F:NV uses the same engine "as is" of FO3 to save time and money. Why did you think it would look different?

they could have used at least some better textures and a few fixes here and there. I mean even the mod community already has thrown them out pretty much on day one of the release of Fallout 1 ...
