My town just exploded.

I live in a place called Billingham. Its dominated by a huge chemical company called ICI. A part of it just... Blew up. Shock wave, huge fires, smoke. Worse yet, the plant is known to produce dangerous chemicals. So erm... if i dont wake up tommorow, i just want you all to know that I liked FOPOS.

Shit. Try not to breathe.

Oh, wait. You said you like FOPOS, in that case: shrivel and suffocate, biatch! :D

Heres a really shitty picture me mate just took. Nothing compared to what i could see twenty minutes ago, but still, this was took from the other side of town. Pretty scary. This is was took about twenty minutes after.

And the BBC's first bit of web coverage:

Did you send the BBC that picture?

Well, good luck, hope there isn't any danger from the smoke.

My mates just done it, thanks for pointing out the feature.

Edit: A guy actually responded, asking for a better quality one. Ninja style window ledge-leening photography has commenced!

He shall never be forgotten, he shall never be forgotten, ah but wasn't he Forgotten, uh, who am I talking about, ah lets forget about him.

Ah, Josh, have you tried to test your lung capacity, it might not be the most intelligent idea for a while, cause there are a few airborne agents in the area. Good luck, and remember, for this you can always sue somebody, but of course you have to be alive, cause it might be a little hard from the afterlife, though I was told that the devil is a very good lawyer.

Bhopol.

Anyway, you are watching your local news? What kinds of gas/chemicals are we talking about?

I think they are prety sure there was ammonia released. BTW, here is a new picture my friend took. Apparently the BBC have used it on the broadcast.

Edit: Errr... If i don't post for a while, I'm dead and Lauren has inherited my post count. So urm... Yeah.

"Explosions Rock Chemical Factory" could also mean a rock band named The Explosions is in town, playing at the local dive. I'm not too sure about this BBC article.

So urm... I didn't die. Sorry to get you hopes up. Hell, its not even on the sky news headlines anymore, fucking attention whore Prescot. No one touch my post count!

Maybe Jarno should give the eulogy at Josh's funeral?

Oh wait he's not dead. Good going mate!

Get a gas mask before you go outside. If you dont have one order it online...I'm sure they still deliver even in the midst of a post-chemical attack deserted town.

Sincerely,

Shouldn't he order two, cause one never arrives for sure, cause the delivery guy might need one too. :)

I'll just make sure the the delivery guy isn't Polish. That way, I'll deffinitely get the delivery, untampered.

Seconded. This has the potential to become a second Bhopal, though in a first world heavily industrialised country. The ramifications of this event will be far worse if it's anywhere near the degree of severity of Bhopal, and I'd advise going to a hotel for a few weeks away from the fucked up factory.

Heh, an interesting point, there is actually a Union Carbide facility in the area, very close to ICI actually.
