Need Help, Jet problem (fallout 2)

First time out of the vault
by mistake i use a canister of jet instead of a stimpack, and i got addicted the first shot i used it.

but for for some reason now, when i talk to Dr. Troy at vault city, i dont get the quest for the antidote.

is there any way i can get it?

i lost 2 strength and 2 of agility and its not coming back. Its really annoying.

please help.

oh, and i didnt install the 1.02 patch, which shouldnt mean anything.


EDIT: Or is there some other place i can get an antidote?
 
You can buy the antidote at the merchant in San Francisco, the building on the left when you enter the city. About that antidote issue, you need to have very good intelligence and a fairly high science skill to trigger that quest. As far as I know, and I'm probably mistaken, you need to first mention it to Myron, thus gaining experience for discovering (and convincing him) that the cure for Jet is possible.
 
problem, he doesnt have any.

are you sure is the building to the left right when you get in the city?
 
One of the merchants in the tanker has it.

Also, edit your post instead of double posting.
 
In addition to what Per said, you should also check all the tables in the shop because most merchants only show the stash from one of the tables/shelves, you have to search the others yourself.
 
sry, but still nothing, i even go out of the city, come back after a day, and still nothing

Should be the male shopkeeper in the tanker, he has 2 crates or tables of stuff, restocks in 1-4 days or something. It's a brown bottle clearly identified as Jet Antidote.

Edit: Actually I was wrong about the restocking time. It's 1 or 2 weeks.
 
Either wait until one of the shops restocks, load a previous save before you got hooked up on Jet, or, a personal favorite, keep taking it on a regular basis.
 
it restocks every 1-2 weeks, thats a long time to wait.

if i ever did save before i used it, it ould have been before i ever got a rifle, and using jet will give you that pumpup at the heat of the moment, but then, you loose pretty much everything. last time, i went down to 2 strength, and i was walking like a turtle.


So, does anyone have any other ideas?

umm, hate to burst your bubble here, but, i dont have that option, the most i can go is untill midnight.

....Then rest until midnight fourteen times (ie. two weeks).

Bloody hell.

Yes, but the only bad thing about the resting is that it doesn't work with Jet. As the description says, it's incurable, that's why the doc needed the cure in the first place.

Yes, that's not the reason for his need to rest. He's supposed to rest so that the shopkeeper restocks.
