Need help - Windows Movie Maker

I spent about an hour and a half today putting together a video in windows movie maker. Once it was perfected, i made the delightful discovery that the fucking thing wont save as a proper wmv format. Apparently, it could be that my files no longer exist, or the target is non existent. Both of these things are untrue. I have however noticed that if i delete well over half the movie in the project, it will save fine, which makes me think size is the issue. Anyone got an idea as to how to get around this, or know any software that can use a movie maker project file? Thanks in advance.

I suggest using a different program, honestly.
I think quite a few higher end programs, such as Adobe Premiere, will allow you to import a Windows Movie Maker project file.

If you can't afford to get it, here are some free alternatives-

Couldn't tell you which ones will let you import though.

I would definitely go with Adobe Premiere and save it as an .avi file, which is superior. I use it daily, it doesn't disappoint.

From a google search, it sounds like the problem might arise when your movie size > available ram.

That must be program specific, because I never had that problem with Adobe Premiere.

If so, looks like he is shit out of luck, unless he wants to save it in parts or buy RAM.
