New Fbos screenies

Well, well lookie here, Interplay have posted some new screenshots of Fbos and they look more like a AD&D game than Fallout (go figure). Behold the almighty lightning bolt spell:

Holy crap! Anyone notice the post-apocalyptic feel or like Chuckie said: "how they capture the essence of a Fallout game setting"..

Hehehe, that was actually already posted around here somewhere a while back. But I still think it's craaaaaaaazy.

I'm doubting ANYTHING other than this could capture the essence worse. Sjeesj...

Maybe you can call in an airstrike from vertibirds with laser mounted cannons or maybe defense satellites from space!!

UNGERMAX!!!!!

Is it just me or does that guy have the strangest balding pattern ever?

Speaking of AD&D, doesn't that guy in the third screenshot look sort of...elfish? Let's see, open V-neck shirt, ballooning sleeves, knee-high boots, and a lazer that looks like a wand.

Seems like FBOS used alot more than just Baldur's Gate's engine.

the skin on that guy reminds me of War Craft 3... Zug Zug...

anyways when Blizzard was making WC3 they said: "We COULD make realistic orcs and humans, but both revious games have been fairly cartoony, so we went with a more cartoony style for this one too"

And now a question begs to be asked... WTF IS THIS? you have this top down quasi isometric view, with cartoonish looking characters shooting lasers at cartoony scorpions... WTF does that have to do with Fallout?

First you take out all the RPG elements, take out the turn based combat that was an important part of the first 2 games, you take grim characters that fit so nicely into the theme and add lots of color to them and make them look cartoony... u then procede to make it look like a d&d adventure with lasers.

I think YOU should be FIRED on the spot, and never again be allowed to make games ever again... NEVER even let close to a computer...

JESUS who are these people?

Izz dat a.....

Izz dat a.....

Izz dat a..... birth mark on yo head or a tribal tattoo, or both .......

Just what the 'heel' is intended and what is mere accident?

Expecting the elite will have shaved their heads and laid down prison tattoos on their craniums, all in homage to Chuck Cuevas and the greater glory of console shooters. Cartoon crazyness fits.

~Expect lots of booger jokes to 'feed' this "projected" market demographic, and counter point the tits akimbo, (well rounded diet!).~

AND that's my concept of these cynical market'eer's and game-meisters, what THEY think they must bundle in a game, NOT what the actual people who are console orientated would consider "a feature".

Recall the interviews of Chuck, says he knows FO and will "honor" the saga. Says a sweet something about the RPG roots, and then does a 180 degree turn to flagellate the rat killing and corpus counts to a frothy head. One man's comedian is another's smart ass.

Whether the attitude is bravado, arrogance, or ignorance, it does not matter.
This FO:BOS has always been a shooter intended for their idea of the console market. Any reference to FO is more of a joke than an game environment or starting point.

If these dev's were capable of parody and 'send up' then Chuck's
"go to hell" style would fit. Over the top humor might work as a cherry.
Bowling for bottle caps at the "Carbon Bowl" under the sign of a smilin' Pip Boy might tease my depraved idea of a mini game, but I doubt
there is a Python or Douglas Adams in this bunch.

BUT right now, they should be sweating out a "good" console game, because the only sure thing is the number of
gamers that "might" consider FO:BOS. Payola style reviews will not "market" the product. The industry reviewers are professional enough to give a dog it's day, and kick it out the door if it sh'ts on the carpet.

There is no 'blockbuster movie' pushing this title. Like "The Matrix": 'Da Game':
No "million unit"-- 'reflexive'-- sale, world wide, before it gets panned, or did I miss read the mag' press.
It's the personal networks of console gamers that will judge this title.

It will depend less on "FO" and more on the translation of it's BG:DA engine.

Actually, I'm convinced a more fitting comparison would be Unreal Tournament. Cyrus has been shown in a UT bot outfit in the first batch of screenshots, and this weapon looks almost exactly like the Shock Rifle.

Jeez......this game never ceases to amaze me, and not in a good way.

Edit: Did anyone ever play that game Take No Prisoners? FO:PoS looks and sounds a lot like it. Too bad it won't be half as good.

Unfortunately, these are the people who'll make Fallout 3. If they ever indeed get around to it.

Yes, it brings a tear to my eyes, too. *Sniff*

No... Show the BIS guys some respect by not relating them with this travesty.
