No experience from witnessing the secret transaction

Okey, my character just followed the Wright kids to the secret desert transaction but didn't receive the 1500 experience after it was finished. I've not completed quest 6 in New Reno. Might it be because I already got the information about the laser pistols from Jules? Any thoughts?

Did you already accept the quest to be part of the guard for the exchange. If you did, when you follow the kids there you end up as a guard and only get the experience when you return to the Salvators and you miss out on the 1500 xp from the kids.

Edit: I usually go staight to the kids when I first enter NR. That way you can do both encounters, thus getting both xp gains.

In my last games I've gone with the kids last, so I can kill the Enclave troopers without angering Salvatore (who's already dead by then).
