Observations (Don't Hurt Me If It's Not Liked)

First time out of the vault
I have been reading over all the reviews and such about the new console game. In X-box magazine I saw a VERY small piece about it. Now it doesn't look all that bad, but I said that about Final Fantasy 8,9, and 10 and CHRIST they F'ing SUCKED! So I may be wrong. Now my mom is a cheapskate and refuses to buy memory upgrades for comp so I cant keep up with the modern PC gaming scene. That mainly is why I look upon the new game with the benefit of the doubt. It may not be good. BUT i'm praying it will be! There is always a small thin infantecimal hope that some jackass bastard (pardon my language) at interplay will get lucky and make a great fluke of a game. VERY VERY VERY improbable however! Now I personally was losing hope in most console games. But when I bought Halo on impulse I realized X-box offers much diversity in gameplay capability. Much more than PS2 (sorry if that offends PS2 afficionados). I think personally if they are going to proceed in this possible throat slitting of theirselves...they NEED to stop making it where ALL the guns of one class look alike...I dont like equipping a COOL looking plasma rifle and it looking like a M-16 as in FOT or in FO1&2 some big monstrosity...I loved the monstrosity better even though the size proportions wasn't great. The armor is ok...except they should change slightly with the armor improvements. HONESTLY how much more memory would that take? Not a lot. They wasted much more than that in silly puns and rediculous pop references that no one got and idiotic random encounters in FO2 and FOT(the random encounters MAINLY for FOT). I keep waiting for cuevos or whatever his name is to steal this line from childs play 3 where the doll says "Don't f#&$ with the Chuck!" Would that be so inconceivable with all the other jackassery they have participated in? Anyone read dilbert? Their developers remind me of the boss in that comic...im sure they have an evil public relations man like catbert...OH WAIT...they already do. My bad. Now i'm sure this may offend some people if it does im sorry! Please don't be angry with me for this post. It's not my intent to annoy but to express a somewhat cautious trust I have for this game. I'm hoping that stuff such as the laser, plasma, pulse animations from FOT would be improved upon because to be honest...those animations looked cool and that was about the only reason I played it. To produce this game is holding a gun to their heads and asking us to pull the trigger if we see fit. I honestly expect their heads to be blown off. I predict it will fail in marketing like all of you have said and it won't fly past mediocre sales. O.K. though! I'm gonna buy it to give me something to do when nothing else is fun and i'm bored with T.V. Now i'm not that bright i don't suppose. I don't pretend to understand marketing & big buisness. But i'm hoping they will look past that crap for once and do something for the fans. It is probably too late but hey, we can always hope. With a console game maybe I can enjoy fallout and not wonder "Gee...will my computer crash because they installed a million bugs and my comp is less than perfect?" Luckily consoles don't make you worry about that stuff. Anyways thats all I got to say about that. Thanks everyone for your time and as I requested: If i've offended please forgive, wasn't my intention to offend but to open a new avenue of hope(still loaded with distrust though). Thanks for listening.

You could have just said you were just going to buy the game no matter what.

And what was the part about Dilbert for?

The only reason you played FO:T was because the animations for the plasma weapons looked cool?

No lol. That was part of the reason I KEPT playing it after I beat it. But as crappy as the gameplay was at times can you blame me for such a superficial reason? Lol. Anyways no that wasn't the only reason.

O.K! *shudders* I just read the FAQ for F:BOS...UGH...you can't customize chars?!?!? THE PREMADE ONES LOOK LIKE CRAP! O_O Jeez. Who are the idiots running that place?? They basically said "Well were too damn lazy to make it where you can have customizable characters and it would cost money we aren't willing to spend!" GOD Perhaps I won't be buying this one!

Seriously, nearly everything about the game is complete ass.

The only thing "Fallout" about it is the name. Other than that, there's a large number of other console games that are better worth your money. Chances are, if you've played Run Like Hell, you might have some idea as to how this game might turn out to be.

If you *really* need to play this game, rent it before you allow Interplay to give you a $40 kick up the ass. They still don't understand that good games require effort and work. Their recent console games are only half ass (compare the message boards for them and then for other, much better games all over the internet). So instead of a strong PC game, they make half-ass PC games with bugs and poor QA. Then they look to console gaming as some golden goose. With their uninspired and downright "play once and forget about them" banality of console titles of recent note, Interplay will possibly turn out to be a crappy extention of Titus after the rest at BIS leave, and toss out nickel and dime titles that not many care about. Titus believes in taking a license and slapping some crappy gimmick onto it or using some other method that doesn't result in sales, it just results in an industry-wide shrug.

Run Like Hell was an very bad game with some potential. it is my opinion that Chuck has some programming talent and some of his ideas are good, but he has three big problems that'll ruin his career:

1) he is inexperienced. a guy who has only one game behind him can't be expected to make a great game, especially under such circumstances (i.e. lack of proper funding and tight schedules to make something that will create some quick buck)

2) he doesn't know shit about Fallout. a guy who never played Fallout can't be expected to make even a decent sequel or rip-off. a girl with thong and dual guns could maybe fit in well in a futuristic cyber-punk game, but definitely not in Fallout. but instead of trying to familiarize himself with Fallout setting and Fallout identity, Chuck instead decides to ruin the game and turn it into a bad futuristic shooter with no identity at all. remember those screenshots from 1997. that i showed once? they are from a game called Take No Prisoners, which is, believe it or not, everything FOBOS wants to be! TNP has it all - nuclear war, ruined cities, plenty of mutants, hi-tech weapons, cheesy characters wearing leather, occasional half-naked chick...does that sound familiar? it is clear what kind of culture influenced Chuck, and it doesn't take a genius to understand that Fallout and its setting aren't exactly Chuck's area.

3) he works for a company that can't even afford to pay its phone bills, let alone invest into an ambitious project. i actually feel kind of sorry for Chuck. he is still a young developer who never even had a chance to prove himself and his career is already close to being ruined. maybe in a better company he would have been given a chance to work on a decent title and possibly show certain talent. but now he is just ruining a great franchize, his own career and on top of that, all Fallout fans hate his guts. as for me, i'll try to show certain compassion and avoid calling him dumbfuck Chuck in every second sentence.

Yeah. You're right Roshambo. I had not though of renting it. Slipped my mind. I have not had the oppourtunity to play RLH but my friends said it was very bad and that child PC games had more vision. I told my mom about this game and she said "It'll suck. That is why you never see PC games come to console. They become screwed up in the reformatting..." She is an avid console gamer but plays many PC games as well. As for what Ratty said yeah...I do feel sorry for Chuck in the fact he got stuck with interplay...its always sad to see talent wasted...anyways thats all i have for right now. See yall.

Pfff, actually I have come to really loathe Chuck, and I can't say that about too many developers. Usually I'll give some developers gruff, but that's to keep them on the straight and narrow, to make sure they know we're watching them.

Chuck just doesn't care and apparently enjoys lying and displaying cluelessness at every opportunity in a manner that makes Romero and Derek Smart look honest and forthright.

heh heh, now that you mention Romero i remembered something that happened when Daikatana multiplayer demo was released. there was a ladder on Ionstorm's site and guess who was always on the top? that's right, Romero! never mind nobody ever actually saw him playing on the servers. that's some ego...

LOL! Wow...someone needs to bring him to earth! Jeez...I mean really if you dont play then don't pretend you do. And when it comes to chuck you can look both ways I suppose...I don't know enough about him to go either way though. I think Roshambo has more intel and can make a lot better decision though. Anyways thats all I have. Latez[/quote]

Another similarity: they both had crappy gimicks!

Take No Prisoners= "unique perspective."
Fallout: POS= Fallout license with thongs and dual guns.
