Ok, maybe it's time to start thinking of Kilrick Chapter 3.

When last we met our heroes were crawling under the Hudson River through an electronic access tunnel over the New Jersey Path train tunnels.

There remained a distinct possibility of mutant hostiles on the way. The quest of the greens remains, as does Rama's side plot about paternal relationships.

Who is in? I think we start this up when we have enough old people.

New People, you are welcome but you might not join for awhile.

Only rule- if you are going to post here you need to be serious and be willing to commit.

Problem is- who else is in.

If Caribe and Prudence are irregular- that's almost half the remaining group. I am rather unwilling to support Caribe's story for now.

The nice thing is that the story is mostly planned out already. I know what the "thing" is and the consequences of it, who the main badguy will be, and what this chapter is about and how it will end, as well as what the next chapter entails.

There is a way to go yet, but if people are unwilling to commit than it's better not to start.

I can crawl back... If you all want me.:D

Don't worry, Welsh, no hard feelings, you don't have to support nothing from my end. I had a nice break, and well, I can now easily balance between games. I can even start all this week since I am on sick leave!!!!

i take from our last convo that Prudy won't join us Carib?

@Welsh: thor & i did our best to keep carib entertained with The Gunny Saga while you were away :p

Ok, since we were running low on characters last time, I think we need to edit and cut down on our numbers.

New characters will have to be tailored to fit the story as New York is somewhat seperated from the rest of the wasteland and something of a world onto itself.

If Prudence will not join, we will need to prune her.

So let's review who's who, and what's what.

What's what-
This story involves a salvage trip to New York, something of an isolated city, to retrieve something for the Greens. Kilrick and a rival, Spengler, had been hired by the Major to individually attempt the retreave an secret item. In addition to those hired by Kilrick, he woudl take two doctors- Dr. Maddy Stowe (with whom Kilrick is having a relationship) and Dr. Edwards, and two Green soldiers- Jasmin and Deeds, her superior, whose job it is to make sure the mission succeeds or secrets are kept.

The Greens are at war with another group- the Greys. The war is a total one of annihiliation and of late the Greys have been winning due to knew and more sophisticated weapons. The secrecy of the operation has also been lost, with Grey squadrons of mechanized forces in pursuit of the two salvagers.

Kilrick has recruited a group of mercenaries for the the trip. Rama, Rohan, Eric, and others. Some have been killed others have survived the dangerous trip to New York.

I will allow you guys to reintroduce your characters.

Kilrick- Kilrick runs a salvage operation as an independent contractor. On the surface, Kilrick seems only interested in the successful completion of the mission and getting paid. More privately, Kilrick operates on his own moral agenda which he shares with few people. As much as Kilrick wants to complete the mission, he is suspicious. He knows that Stowe has serious misgivings about the mission, as does Edwards. While he has gotten along with Jasmin in the past, he doesn't trust Deeds and expects, sooner or later, the two will have a showdown that will leave one dead. The most trusted of the men, is Jake, his long-time partner.

Logan- Used to be a freelance spy. Is now looking to get into NY for his own agenda. He will make it, or die trying. He doesn't really care about the salvage crew, at this point they are little more than means to an end, but he will carry out his promises. His body is appears to be infected with some kind of nanotechnology that can be beneficiary, but will be the death of him in the long run.
He knows more about NY & the troubles the salvage crew are encountering than he is letting on...

Stryfe - A freelance mercenary, formerly of the Rangers, a group that devoted itself for bringing peace to the wastes, between the Greens and the Grays. Stryfe travels to New York to face his own demons and complete a mission he had lost his old team mates to New York. His old comrade Edden came to join Rama upon the request to just be able shed blood. His relationship with the woman is purely friendship and old honor. The rest of Carib is shrouded in mystery, his orgins aren't entirely that of the rangers, but hints something far more sinister.

Carib has some knowledge of New York as well as the Frontier lands of the Wastes... New York holds memories and nightmares, but Stryfe has been away too long.

Its the same, but for simplicity, Stryfe will do, but as I said Rama is an alias. But in the end Rama Stryfe would be the same.

Okay, I would be interested in joining and have constructed this character that feel could fit.

Name- Terra “The mapmaker”
Age 17 Female
Specialties: Cartography, Sneaking, Mathematics, and Physics.
Items: A 357 Mangum with some ammo, a small computer data pad for programmed to make quick calculations, a sextant, a compass, and her map books which contain maps of everywhere she has traveled.

After her mother mysteriously disappeared when she was five, Terra was raised by her father who taught her the skills used in cartography by taking her with him of his own mapmaking expeditions. A little over a year ago, he disappeared leaving a trail of clues that Terra had followed.

Okay, I have two thoughts on the why Terra is in NY. One she has tracked the clues of her father to the city and paid what money she had left in for assistance on getting in, or she herself is a resident of the city and the clues to her father’s where-a-bouts have or will lead her to need to find a way to leave the city.

Let me know.

Well Alba- Generally anyone in the city is a resident. We had to sneak through an elaborate electronic grid, protected by hunter-killer robots to get in. So chance are she is inside.

NY is divided in neighborhoods. Some have a lot of human activity, others none, others are populated by strange mutant creatures. The mix of high-tech and post-apoc can work here. ALso there is an elaborate underground system that has it's own population. Of the human community, some are fairly organized, others are divided by gangs.

What do the rest of you think of this character? Suggestions?

Yeah, I kind of figured that she would need to be a resident based on reading chapter two. Let me know when and if you would like to introduce the character so I can go over a little more of her background.

Thanks,

Albatross.

I am actually thinking of introducing her very soon. We are a bit short of players and if Darkcorp doesn't rejoin soon, I am going to feed him to the beasts.

I like the idea of your character being a city thief who knows her way around, a potential guide with her own agenda.

To be honest, I have an idea where the story is going and what will happen, but I have yet to populate NY with gangs, factions, organizations, cults, cabals, monsters, etc. That stuff I was thinking about playing by ear.

I think Caribe has a few ideas of what the city should look like or have to fit his story of the "father character that got left behind" but he hasn't shared those details yet.

So Caribe? Please share so I can plot that in or consider that an ancillary plot.

But Alba- it might very well be that we run into her very soon, somewhere down the PATH train she might be scouting out possible exits, or investigating why the power grid is down, or looking for some valuable tech that she can steal from "the Authority" or "Daemonicus" and get away with.

Prudence is history, but this little detour down the PATH will end soon.

And Caribe- sorry about Prudence but she did go looking for a kid (as if a kid will be in the PATH tunnels) which was consistent with her earlier posts.

I saw.

We need to figure out who is still with us.

Jake- Gruug's character
Deeds and Jasmin- NPCs grunts
Edwards and Stowe- NPCs scientists
Stokes- Who was playing Stokes?
Eric-
Edden- now KIA
Logan-

Anyone I miss? I am feeling the need to trim down. If Darkcorp does not return, I think I feel feed Eric to the beasties.

Alba- I think the story is pretty much in your hands now.

I would suggest leading through subterranean tunnels, perhaps being chased by bots, maybe meet up with some mutant creatures, and then reaching some kind of sanctuary. Go with it.

The Father who was left behind is a wily old Information Broker and Smuggler, who is a ruthless but honorable old bastard. He is somewhere in Mahattan in a fortified area.

Soft, husky voiced, but large build and a terrible temper.

He offers resupply for those intrepid enough to be scurrying about the Manhattan hot zones. Apart from that, he would be a detour, you know so we can deliver the tape from his son Talon.

Apart from that, it is side plot. We move on as always.

Maybe we can tie in Albatross's thief to Father. IF Father is held up in a stronghold he might be relying on spies and thieves to collect and move information.

Also, we are still on a quest to find the hidden thing.
