First order of business, how can we play when you [Welsh] referre your self as in I, so how would we play? We all cant see I, and me. It'd get too confusing.

It's only the first post.
Thanks for starting the OCC and the discussion.

SO lets start discussing.

Right now, my main thought on the new role play is this, "be creative."

I will post a quick one tomorrow.

Can you guys give me a quick run down on what this thing is. From having a quick look, I'm interested and already have a vague idea for a character. However I would prefer to understand more fully what you have in mind for this RP.

Well, read his other thread about this.

Basicly its nit going to be in as much as a novel format as lone wanderers. I think.

Well Reaper- basically its a mean, nasty and brutish role play involving a trip in New York down about 150 miles from a small village to the ruins of New York City to retreave an unknown artifact.

Less a novel than a role play, more violence and sex, more powerful characters. Lots of new creatures (I hope).

This is more for players who don't want to write a lot or develop a long story. So it should be different than Lone Wanderers.

Two things about Reik -

1) Reik is pronounced 'Rike'

2) For a mental picture of him, think Bruce Willis in 5th Element but with a bit of Neal McDonough in Ravenous (mainly the scary blue eyes and a bit of his demeanour - sorry, I stole the name from that film too. But it is such a brilliant film)

3) Oh, Welsh, he is not a knife man like Gabe (though he can use knives well- just because he is a good fighter). I don't want to be too repetitive. I know I left the ball in your court by suggesting our characters knew each other of old, sorry. I thought it might be cool. I will PM you some details you might want.

Changed my character after asking around and finding out marine is not the thing to be. So I guess my character is just gonna be a merc out for hire. Maybe this will work better for rp?

Just wanted to give everyone a be of a belated heads up. The reason why Kilrick went in shooting and without more discretion was because of this-

She smiled. "Not today. Come on, I'll show ya the way." And with that, she hopped in, and directed them past all the mines, right up to the door.

I am loath to delete someone's posts. But I will ask that in the future we take care. I had set up the fortress at O'neils to be a bit more difficult to get through, but having gotten right up to the door (and we weren't even in no-man's land) I figured that the badguys knew we were there and were probably thinking we were here for business. In that sense, we had gotten into the middle of the den so might as well start shooting.

But then this is a role play and not a story.

Anyway, this is a good time to loot the place, interview any survivors or hookers, and then get out. The rest of the story awaits. Remember we are there for weapons and supplies.

I entered the fray, hope it didn't screw with whatever you big fish had cooking?

My man is Stryfe, a sort of Mysterious Stranger with his own agendas...

1) He is a cold hearted mother fucker with all the warmth and sympathy of a death claw.

2) Gunslinger, seems to have this nomadic tendancy to wanderer around and trade his skills and proficency as as bounty hunter to make a living....

3) Mysterious in character since he always seems to keep his own agendas to himself. Not megalomanical, but shrewd and characterized with a certain uncanny wisdom.

I duon't know if it should be brought up here. Am I the only one that finds it kind of weird that these raiders have powerful energy weapons. Most of these were found in military bases. In Fallout, only the supermutants and the brotherhood had those because they were originally from military facilities.

Also, if you indeed decide to find these weapons lying around, most of the guys in the character profiles have no experience with heavy or energy weapons.

True, but they may seem like raiders and could have dealings with other shady beings. Remember Ol' Man Salvatoire had some dealings with the Enclave.... Not to mention Bishop not afraid to hire well trained raiders to destablize Vault City.

While I agree that power weapons does add something a bit higher than perhaps we should, I would add a couple cavets-

(1) just because you got them doesn't mean you can use them
(2) they weigh a lot so ammunition will be difficult to keep
(3) What's in New York might be worth the carry.

Here's the thing- one of the goals of Kilrick was to be a little more high power than Lone Wanderers- where such weapons are few and far between.

As Rama indicates- the Razors and O'Neil have been doing business in the middle of a war zone. A lot of these weapons might be beyond the price of a lot of potential customers. At this point the war is pretty much winding down, so there is quite a bit of gear left over.

Also, while this is Post Apoc- it is also role play. SO while we are following Fallout patterns, its not exactly like Fallout. Afterall, we did have a car.

But we can change this if you like. I'm easy.

What are your thoughts?

Sorry if energy weapons are too high-powered, welsh. I tried to find a weapon that was both in-character for Aaron and powerful enough to do more than scratch the paint/skin off what you mentioned we might meet in New York. I added the supercharger because I liked the idea and the danger of using it at full power counterbalances its increased effectiveness. I'll change it if necessary; just PM me.

Kurgan- I think the plasma pistol is fine for this thread. Yes, its powerful but there are some nasty things coming in NY, so it should be ok.

My plans for New York are to make it quite different from just about anything we have seen in Fallout before.

But let's get there first.

I mean I have no problem with high powered weapons, or a decent amount of them. However, I am a bit skeptical about things such as a gatling laser. The kickback of a "gatling" laser is hypothetical, but I would like to stay along the lines of the norm where it would be impossible for a man to shoot a gatling weapon.

Second, while it is true Salvatore had dealings with the enclave, the enclave would also never be stupid enough to provide the Salvatores enough weapons to become a regional power. The weapons cache you guys found would lead me to believe there are racks and racks of just plasma and laser rifles, along with the occasional hidden gatling laser. Something akin to what was found in the ordinance rooms of Navarro, Mariposa and even Westech. I mean with enough manpower to put those weapons to use, O'Neils men could literally be a match for the brotherhood.

However, whatever you guys do, I am fine with. But if I can change one thing, it would be a gatling weapon, thats a bit too much. But then again, its all up to you guys, all Eric wants is the M24 SWS sniper rifle.

Ok, I think this is reasonable- O'Neil's place is a bit more restrictive- No gatling lazers. No gauss mini-guns. No mini-guns.

Seems fair.

Well, I tried to be a little more practical, reason why I allowed Stryfe to takea Laser Rifle, which is fairly light and two micro fusion cells, which probably resemble 6Volt Duracell batteries. I rather my person rely more on his own weapons, such as his AK-47 (depleted uranium rounds kick ass), and his magnums. Grenades and such. But I don't want him bogged down... Combat armor is enough with light plating.

But make O'Neil's pad more like the gun runners from Fallout 1. The strongest rifle you found was a plasma rifle, laser rifle, and the normal minigun... No gatling lasers (strictly military), Mini-guass rifles are out since they were far and few inbetween. See even Fallout makes sense. So discretion. As well as in skill using these weapons. A good role player knows what to do.

I mean, does the energy weapon have a safety system? A lot of things you have to think on. But these are my rantings, Welsh in the end has the final say.
