100 dollars cheaper than Xbox One ($400), accepts used games, and does not require an Internet connection to play games...which supposedly Xbox One does. This will most likely be the system I get.
 
All of that AND it's also way more powerful than the Xbone in terms of specs. Hard times ahead for Microsoft.

The only blemish is that probably multiplayer will be behind a paywall this time. :|

Yeah, that's a bummer. But I'm already paid up on PS+ till November of next year so I guess I'm set for a year at least.

And I've been getting a lot of free games for that $49.99 a year too. Totally worth the value of the service.

However, unlike Xbox, the other apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant etc. will still work without PS+.

I'm in the same boat, as long as PS+ is as good as it is now it's a non-issue for me, but still... :\ I've heard rumors that there will be a lower (and cheaper) tier of subscription for multiplayer only, though.

Edit. Aaaand of course as usual the price isn't converted as it should. :( Price will be 399$/Eu-349Pounds instead of 399$-300Euro-255Pounds. Dat euro tax!

Honestly I don't understand why they are keeping multiplayer behind a paywall considering that with discounts and "loaned" games they are giving away more than they charge. Unless they are banking on players checking those discounts to make the most out of their subscription and ending buying stuff they wouldn't buy otherwise.

Would be pretty logical. Not sure on the giveaways, but that's how discounts work.

Also, all I hear about PS4 so far (including some upcoming titles) looks fantastic, and I almost want to buy one myself.
 
Well, wow. The PS4 is around 65% smaller than the XB1, except that the latter also has an external power brick. Hell, is smaller than the PS3 Slim and just slightly bigger than the original PS2. I'll probably be able to keep them both in the same place if I keep them vertically. :)

XB1: 34.3 x 26.3 x 8

PS4: 30.5 x 27.5 x 5.3

For reference:

PS3 Slim: 29 x 29 x 6.5

XBONE 7,200 cm cube
PS4 4,400 cm cube

XBONE in total volume is ~63% larger than PS4.

Yeah, if it wasn't for multiplayer behind a pay wall I couldn't say anyhting negative about it at all. Sony is even making a...uhm...less mainstream? game like Knack for it. I'm definitively buying it at some point if not even day one.

Well, considering that I usually don't care much about MP and would want it mostly for the JRPGs and stuff, that doesn't matter as much to me. BTW, have we heard anything about region-blocking and such? Will it be possible to, say, import Japanese games to play on European systems?
