Post-Apocalyptic Stories Thread

First time out of the vault
I have a couple of post-apocalyptic stories I wanted to share with you guys, specifically, post nuclear stories. The first, some of you may know. It is a short story by Ray Bradbury, one of my favorite authors. It's called "There Will Come Soft Rains", link right here.

The second is a sort of interactive story with many, MANY endings. I have personally wasted quite a few hours on it myself. It's called "Ground Zero". Here's the link:

Also, if you have any you would like to share, by all means, post 'em.

Well, they weren't written by me, and they don't relate DIRECTLY to Fallout, so I assumed they would not belong there. I can ask a mod to move it, if need be. Although, the thread does not seem too popular XD

Well I dont know if this thread will be moved or not but, here is a short story turned video game which I discovered through game informer. It's called I have no mouth and I must scream.

Here is the link. http://pub.psi.cc/ihnmaims.txt

Yeah, that comic is awesome. Too bad the creator is a lazy douchebag who made it abundantly clear that he has no interest in making the comic. Doesn't keep him from asking for donations, though.

True that. He's like, "Give me some donations and I might get a page or two finished"... :roll:

Here's a post apocalyptic story for you;

One day a character with above average intelligence, charisma and heroic luck walks into Vault city. He learns about the citizenship thing and decides to go for the test. After two seconds of hard preparation (taking 2 mentats) he passes the test with flying colours and happily goes for the vault computers. He speaks to the doctor who is enthralled by his vast intelligence, he dates the nurse and then goes for the vault computers.

He ends up in the vault library where he found some interesting information, he keeps browsing the database for hours. Soon, he realizes that something is terribly wrong.

He goes to speak with his new girlfriend, but all they can converse about is HUGO MARTIN, then when he tries to talk to the doctor, he ends up in the servant allocation center. There, he tries to talk to the chief of staff, but he can't seem to understand a word the latter is saying, so he shambles off.

By this time, he is completely lost and doesn't even remember his name. The librarian couldn't help either, the preaching guy on the street shoos him off and much to his misfortune, he walks into the council hall, where he finds the previously friendly councilman McLure, who tries to talk with him about the mission regarding the Gecko NPP, but our hero calls him Santa Claus and is then escorted to the gates of Vault City and is thrown out.

When the mentats after-effects wear off and his normal intelligence level returns, our hero finds out that his recently acquired citizenship has been revoked and he is no longer permitted to enter vault city.

Game last saved in Klamath...

End of story.
