Little is known about Huxley's gameplay at the moment. Action is directed to be fast-paced, on par with games such as Unreal Tournament 2004,[citation needed] applied to a Massively Multiplayer Online Game setting. This style is in contrast to another MMOFPS, PlanetSide by Sony Online Entertainment, which follows a more tactical and thought out route of action. In a recent interview, Huxley's main producer Kijong Kang said that the cities in Huxley will be able to accommodate up to 5000 (according to recent publications that number was increased to 10000 since summer 2006) people, and the individual battles will support over a hundred players. The battles can be as small as 1 VS 1 or as big as 60 VS 60 players (120), which is a modest improvement over the 150 player maximum of Novalogic's Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising. Player vs. AI will allow up to 64 players of a given faction to play together.
Player vs. player battles will be available, as will be player vs. AI quests that the player can choose to take on. The 360 version of Huxley is said to include a single player campaign.

Although Webzen has not been specific, it can be derived from the released information that Huxley’s advancement system is actually separated into two. In the early part of the character advancement player system, players can shape their character in the style they like best. After that, players can then add depth to their characters. ‘Experiences’ and ‘Battle points’ are two elements of character advancement. ‘Experiences’ will affect the earlier part of character development and ‘Battle Points’ will affect the later part of a character’s development in a big way.

In the earlier part, by acquiring licenses, characters can have opportunities to use upgraded weapons and armor. In the later part of the game, players will concentrate on developing their characters to be more effective under any circumstance. One developer has stated, "We are planning to make the earlier part of character development relatively fast and the later part of development a bit slower but more abundant. This is because we decided that too much difference between characters abilities that affect combat result is not good for an FPS game."

Although I don't play MMO games I'm very curious about this one. An MMO that's played as a FPS could be very interesting. I could imagine people who have played it a long time using their experience/money earned to be something of a high class mercenary who has the best equipment money can buy and works for the highest bidder or something like that where a new player has to join a faction as a recruit doing all the grunt work.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I'm not so fond on the art direction of the 'suits' however I'm liking the backgrounds, might be worth a look if the game's cheap enough.

To me it really just looks sexy, and I think a really fast paced fps would make am uch better mmo game than any standard 3rd person rpg can really manage. RPGs should be about story and content, the interactive storytelling is their strongpoint. FPS games are simply better suited for multiplayer, espeically on massive scale.

Why is that one woman not wearing any pants!?!?!?!?!?!

Bonus to dodge maybe? I'll have to remember to not wear any pants next time I'm being shot at.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

It looks interesting but their website seems to be... incomplete and has been for some time... That bothers me. I've been down that road a time too many *sighs*

Wow, I like the style except that I'm a bit allergic to neon stripes on armor. How does the art designer defend himself?

-Why is there big blue here-I-am beams on the warriors wests?
-Erhm, it's the future!?
-No. DIE!

Of course it could have something to do with the "powerful energy source", but lets face it, it looks ridiculous.

How do you know that's a woman? Feminine forms can be deceiving.

Release date: within 2007
Hmm

Because I'm going off the fact that all of the male armor is bulky in the torso while the female armor seems to show off the boobies.

The pantless one has verifiable boobies, therefore I claim it's a female.

The atmosphere ain't just what i would call Post Apocalyptic. Not a good one at least !
The game looks more like a new Final Fantasy .
Everybody wants to jump in the Post Apoc band wagon these days !

Yeah, considering the fact that there's about 3-4 post-apo mmo's being developed, a couple of browser games, there's AoD, Fallout 3, couple of big Fallout mods....post apo setting is getting mainstreamed.

Oh, and there is Neuroshima of course, plus the games that haven't been announced yet (but surely will be).

Ravager69, do note that Huxley was in production before all the others.

not to mention it's not going for your average post-apoc setting either, so it's probably safer not to associate it with the other ones.

(do note that i'm not saying it'll be good)

Maybe it's not an average, but post apo still. Besides, it is about time to switch between the goddamn medieval setting into ruined future landscape.

And in few years we'll have people saying : "ANOTHER post apocalyptic game? Man, where have orcs and elves gone? D&D games were so much better than this."

Time for change has come.
