First off, we need some system specs from you (ie Windows version, etc).

If you are using the installer version of my mod, then there is no need to manually look for the installation directory. However, my installer might not auto detect the trilogy pack. I know it will auto detect the installation directory for the original F2 release as well as the GOG release though. This leads me to a request. Could you do the following for me:

Go to your start menu.
Click Run (this assumes you are running Win XP or below. If you are using Vista or above then click inside the Start Search box)
Type: regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
From here I am not sure the directory that you will want to look for. I'll assume that it is Interplay. Once inside Interplay directory, go as deep as you can. For example, for me I have Interplay/Fallout2/1.02d
Please tell me the names of the folders that you have to go through to get to the end.

The above will help me continue to make my installer as easy to use as possible. However, it is not completely relevant to your problem. If you are running Win XP, then the game should install in your Program Files directory. If you are running Vista, it might place it somewhere else. I'm not entirely sure since I don't run Vista.

hey man im having the same problem. as the other guy. i think what hes trying to say is. he has. fallout trilogy disk. which has 1,2 and tactics on the same disk.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE interplay/fallout collection

see the problem we are having is. the program doesnt find the installation directory. is this expansion even compatible with this version of the game?

oh and the game version that comes with it is 1.02.25
i actually had the pleasure of playing the expansion previously. damn fine work you do.

The installer looks for a few preset registry locations. Even if it doesn't find it, you can still manually choose where to install.

I could swear I was told where the fallout trilogy pack installs the registry key, but since you have it, can you double check.

Doesn't each game in the trilogy have a separate key in the registry? What is it exactly?

i figured it out.

C:\Program Files\Interplay\Fallout Collection\Fallout2

the problem i was having is it was trying to create a new folder.

C:\Program Files\Interplay\Fallout Collection\Fallout2\new folder

once i deleted it it installed fine. i hope this helps anyone else having problems

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/INTERPLAY/FALLOUT COLLECTION
Cool, so there is only one key. There isn't HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/INTERPLAY/FALLOUT COLLECTION/FALLOUT2, etc for each of the three games?

EDIT:
Glad you got it working.
