I'm trying to install the fallout 2 restoration project and I see no installation folder which makes me wonder if its even possible to put mods that work for the trilogy.
thanks for your help in advance.
First off, we need some system specs from you (ie Windows version, etc).
If you are using the installer version of my mod, then there is no need to manually look for the installation directory. However, my installer might not auto detect the trilogy pack. I know it will auto detect the installation directory for the original F2 release as well as the GOG release though. This leads me to a request. Could you do the following for me:
Go to your start menu.
Click Run (this assumes you are running Win XP or below. If you are using Vista or above then click inside the Start Search box)
Type: regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
From here I am not sure the directory that you will want to look for. I'll assume that it is Interplay. Once inside Interplay directory, go as deep as you can. For example, for me I have Interplay/Fallout2/1.02d
Please tell me the names of the folders that you have to go through to get to the end.
The above will help me continue to make my installer as easy to use as possible. However, it is not completely relevant to your problem. If you are running Win XP, then the game should install in your Program Files directory. If you are running Vista, it might place it somewhere else. I'm not entirely sure since I don't run Vista.
