Rock Star Games has picked up the license to release "Red Dead Revolver". Was cancelled by Capcom, now being released by Rock Star :? Not really their style of game I think, but I was looking forward to this game, and I'm glad somebody is going to be releasing it.

News.

Screenshots and trailers.

If only lucasarts would sale all their adventure game licenses to someone who will actually make the games.

Capcom had it almost completed from what I understand. Rockstar is just finishing it, so it can be released.

Rockstar always adds a unique little somethin' to their games that makes it addictive. Overhyped, yes, but good at 2 in the morning with a cold piece of pizza.

Rockstars games are an oddity, they are fun and addictive.. but have sub-par graphics and lack polish all over the place.

It's like they have skilled gamer loving developers who have a shorter-than-necessary window for getting their games "finished".

I mean, I love GTA 3 and VC, but there are some basic gameplay problems and minor silly little glitches that a big name should put the extra effort into squashing. But, as I conjectured, the devs probably aren't given nearly as much time as they'd like.

What do you mean? Rockstar has an off-and-on record, some of their games are excellent, others simply are not.

I thought Vice City was extremely polished, and I didn't notice any worse glitches than I find in any game. I also found the gameplay intuitive and interesting, I didn't notice any problems there either. Grand Theft Auto 3 does have subpar graphics, but it is also much older.

Presumably the differences stem from which studio they are developed at. Rockstar uses several different studios, which have, literally, nothing to do with each other. The GTA games were, IIRC, made at Rockstar North, a studio based in Scotland. Many of the other games are just tagged with the Rockstar logo to sell more.
