I mean, which recent games allows you to TWEAK your graphic options like this?

and of course, the wanton mayhem destruction of getting rush by tons of enemies while backpedaling shooting them with your rocket launcher.

*Tears of Joy*.

Awesome! They should totally add it to some graphically intensive titles. Sucks when I lack a couple of frames to bearable gameplay because the game can't take advantage of my computer fully.

Well, all Serious Sam games since the first one had fuckload of graphics options so this was to be expected. Although it's still nice to hear this hasn't changed.

Almost all recent FPS titles like DnF, Rage and Unreal Tournament have developed as console first in mind, and unfit to use as GPU tester. :ugly:

Damn. I'd adjust the hell out of those settings.

Any feedback about the actual game though?

Not that I know of, but it's being developed by Croteam, the same guys who made Serious Sam 1 & 2, so I guess there is no need worry about the gameplay.

Fun fact: The development team that made Serious Sam 1 was consisted of six employees only...and we all know how awesome that game was/is.

It's a Croation company so maybe Ratty knows them. :D

I did, kinda. Most Croteam programmers graduated from the same college as me, though a few years earlier. I remember two of them gave a guest lecture on Serious Engine in the undergrad graphics class in 2003 or so.

Then a few years later a colleague of mine applied for a job there, but they weren't hiring at the time. Turned out they were on the verge of bankruptcy, and salaries hadn't been paid in months. In the US, any game studio would have shut down under those circumstances, but in Croatia it's common practice for employees to work for months without compensation.

That was at least 4 years ago, yet they are still around. Presumably they were able to secure external funding since, seeing as they haven't released a new game since 2005.

Or they are still working without getting paid. :p

Last time I've seen something about SS3, it felt very weird. Our modern world mixed with the crazy Serious Sam setting- our guns, mixed with the Serious Sam guns... I wonder how this will turn out.

Talking about the Balkan that seems not that unlikely you know ... (stories which I know from my relatives are pure horror)

I heard that it still has the "old" way of gameplay with constant and heated action. It also has co-op. I'm buying it for either of those things.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Saw some gameplay footage, it's a tad "modernized", but still balls to the wall awesome, regretting not getting it while the preorder deal lasted. Gonna def. get when the price drops a bit.

Also, I'll just leave this here:

Wait for christmas, I bet it will be in some sale as well. :p

Buying games right now is not a good move (if you don't mind buying it from Steam), because I am pretty sure a lot will be in the special sale again.

Yeah, I'm thinking that as well. Besides, all my purchases for anything other than food are on hold until I secure a new job, anyway.
