Hello guys!

There is a new MMORPG Fallout-style game, with new engine, that using Fallout 2 resources.

The project was in development for two years and soon it`ll reach free open beta test.

The tasks for artist are:
1. Create concept-art of several new armors for FA-MP;
2. Create animation frames those armors;
3. Other things like creating intro/outro, and in-game objects.

Wow! You're aiming very high. A lot of time is needed to slightly modify the existing ones... I don't even think how much time will cost creating totally new ones :roll:

Anyway, I wish you luck. Maybe you'll find skilled Character Animator who's insane enough to fight with freaking Frame Offset(s), since you want to use Fallout resources (and the way how animations are handled there).

FO:MP and FOnline are two very different projects with the totally different gameplay conception. After very long discussion in russian forums we were able to extort :) from Babax a main difference: there will be no NPC in FO:MP. I really fail to see why FO:MP team still tries to recruit people with such vague posts with almost no information.
 
What's so "extortful" in reading information posted at the official site? Just try to visit it someday, eh?

The most interesting information is yet to be published, but all you do is bitching, bitching and bitching again. What about old good "Hey, that's an interesting project! We are looking forward to seing more information published!"? But yeah, that's much more grateful to claim that "The project is non-existing, but still the guys are good at photoshoping.".

Fan support is one of the most important factors in the development process. People working on the projects like FA-MP do not do the job for themselves. They work for the good of the players and they CARE about these players. Do you actually think that ignoring team's activity and locking their threads in response will help them in development?

Yes, I admit that quite a few bits of information have been revealed so far and the first official video is going to be published only next week. But hey, FA-MP team are the living people too and they also want some understanding and caring. Just try to give it to them and see how the development speed raises, giving even more information along with the public release itself.

Dont see where the point is at arguing, i learned about fonline the day of the beta test. The two gameplay seems different since there is no npc in this one, and I appreciate the fact that the players are the one leading the faction. So i will wait the video and the beta test to make my mind.

About some graphic, like continuum said, that's a bit to high level for me.
But I am currently working on modifying the colors of the models (robes and jumpsuit), thanks to holograme genial technique.
Thanks to him, we have already the blue robe (for elder of the Brotherhood), the brown one (for the squires), the cyan, green, red robes...
I personaly have made the black one, and i am currently working on the black jumpsuit, still some work to do to find the right black thought.

I think I could find others combinations, (red, green, yellow) but I am not sure about the esthetic of it.
I am of course speaking of hero type model, with full frame, walking all weapon...

Sadly, the others models are not as easy to modify. if you find someone on the russian side, maybe he could help us with the long haired hero? Or expand one companion of the NPC mod, so that they can use any weapon?

Now lets talk about some cathedral, with big vats in it... :D

Brilliant! I thought about creating new animation frames by changing the colour of source ones. Yeah, that could helps a lot.

You are using the Fallout 2 art files then here's how you can get a few more critters

1) Extract the extra few critters from Fallout 1 (Gizmo,luetenant,master)

2) Download all the new critters that Siren has made (a few robots). In fact you should PM him and ask if he has any new critters he can give you.

3) Extract a few of the new critters from the Mutants rising demo (the girl critter, not sure if all the new turrets etc were in the demo build, but will hopefully be able to release something before the end of the year)

The best idea would be expanding the NPC Mod Sprites, indeed. Think about the Cassidy model. Now make a copied critter model, but with all weapon animations. There, you got a "Bald Hero Model" that is separated from the normal Cassidy model with his own weapon animations. In fact, that gives potential for a lot of models for heroes:

Tribal Hero Model (Sulik)
Fat Hero Model (Vic)
Bald Hero Model (Cassidy)
Ghoul Hero Model (Lenny)
Super Mutant Hero Model (Marcus)
Nerd Hero Model (Myron)
Alternate Female Hero Model (Miria)

Expanding other models would be possible, too.

Long Haired Hero Model (Ian and look-alikes)
Punk Haired Female Model (Katja and look-alikes)
Brown Hair Hero Female Model (those gals with brown hair and metal armor, for example)

That would require a lot of work, though.

Or simply create new human critters/animations and render them :wink: The problem is that the only guy who's doing any new critters in this way is Wild Qwerty. I'm not sure what with Sirren (is he still around or not).
 
2Boss As a modder I understand your problems, but it would be really more productive if you'd reveal some features about your own game instead of pouring a tons of shit on FOnline. After reading your forum I can't treat your team as a part of "big, friendly and helpful modding community". "We can't reveal our ideas, FOnline will steal them!" And all sort of nonsense like this.

No one claims it's non-existent. But there were a LOT of the project with just two vague description lines. They're all dead by now. And of course, potential "fans" want to see something more and want to see the difference from the existing project. And all you can say: "FOnline is crap, MP is rules, stay tuned, we'll show you more soon... soon... soon..."

Anyway... good luck. There are a lot of good (really good) artists on NMA forums, I hope you'll draw their attention. And next time will show more than four photoshopped screens. ;)

Well, you are not really correct, blaming us in such angry behaviour. There was several people on FA-MP forum, that really don`t like FO, but the developer team don`t have anything against FOnline. It is a nice project and we wish them luck to complete it.
 
In either case, arguments from elsewhere should not continue here.
