Ok, so how did you resolve this?

I don't want to sell out Rose, and honestly, the Van Graffs and Alice need to be put down like the dogs they are.

Is it possible to whack the Van Graffs and put Alice in chains?

I gave the evidence to the NCR and nailed the fuckers down.

Though, after you sacrifice Cass, you get a really cool mini-quest from the Van Graffs. I like that one really a lot, but I just can't get myself to kill Cass.

I accidentally sold her out on my first game. I didn't know the Van Graffs wanted to kill her. I thought she just might have owed them some money or something. :(

By the way, if you're an energy weapons type then siding with Cass in this quest should be avoided. Either turn her in or don't finish the quest because the Van Graffs are a good source of weapons, ammo, and mods for Energy specialists.

Same here.

Though I think that after you get the evidence, you can send Van Graffs to the afterlife and nail Alice with those evidence.
At least that was possible in the unpatched version, don't know about the current one.

You can get them both with the evidence, but the Van Graffs will turn hostile so you'll have to take them out too.

I have to admit that this was a harder decision to make than the Megaton bomb was in Fallout 3. I can either let Cass die, or lose a good source of ammo and weaponry.

Out of 4 playthroughs I let Cass die twice. Once because I was playing evil, and the other because...I guess I don't care that much of Cass as companion. :\

I accidentally sold her out on my first game. I didn't know the Van Graffs wanted to kill her. I thought she just might have owed them some money or something. Sad

It happened to me too, but I managed (umprepared and underleveled) to kill everyone and keep her alive. One of my best moments with the game. :D

Another thing to note is that she doesn't seem too keen to remain in your presence if you play on the less-than-moral side of the line, so you essentially only have one choice if you're playing an evil game, too-- that is, unless you decide not to progress this quest line at all.

In my first (goodish) playthrough, I chose to do things the (quasi-)legal way. The Van Graffs still forced me to burn them to the ground, though. I never did end up getting anyone else to sell me the mod parts for my plasma caster, either...

SO you can sell out Alice and the Van Graffs to the NCR and then come back and kill them (double the fun?).

Can you kill the Van Graffs and still leave Alice in chains?

Finally, anyone just let that bomber blow the Van Graffs to hell?

I collected evidence against them, killed the guards outside the shop as they went hostile immediately, snuck alone into the shop and capped the remaining guard and the sadistic brother, put the sister to sleep with beanbag ammo and looted the place while she was out. Left her alive so she can be processed by the NCR.

I think doing the "sneak into the gun runners factory" quest results in them being auto-killed in the ending.

Hopefully the patch will fix the Van Graffs turning auto-hostile, everyone really hates that new change.

It's not a bug it's intentional. The Van Graffs have informants that let them know that you turned them in to the NCR. They're obviously not going to be happy about this.

Hah, I never have done the Gun Runners related quest, because my heart just couldn't do that. :> Guess I really have to try that now in my actual playthrough.

Killing the Gun Runners doesn't stop that robot from selling things to you.

Killing the Gun Runners never was an option for me. If I would have done the quest part, it would have been sneaking in, sneaking out, without anyone seeing me.

I haven't done it because I feared I would lose a trader, but because I like them too much to betray them in whatever way.

What can I say, the Van Graffs (when their inventory feels like restocking) are the best choice for enegry weapons (well outside of the Fiends). They are also the only independant firm, with the CC & Gun Runners being primary suppliers to the NCR war effort, therefore, dead.

I had a problem with microfusion cells, but then i stole them all from BoS bunker :D
Had 1200 in the end...packed rat perk ftw!

Anyway i gave the evidence, more exp earned and i'm usually the good guy. That little prick in front of Silver Rush attacked me nevertheless after that quest, and took a trip to hell after that.

ED-E and Cass were my first companions, so they hold a special place in my heart. With other companion's side quests I have a "Yeah, yeah, I'll get around to it later" feeling. But ED-E my love and Heartaches by the number are always a priority to me.

Anyway, I chose turning them in to the NCR.
