Saying this is a rumor even though the source is probably solid, but it's from a link, so it's not official. From the NPD thread on NeoGAF:

Fallout 4
2.54M physical units sold including bundles (digital copies not included)

(In comparison, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' sold 2.833 million in November 2011 when you combine the normal and collector's edition SKUs.)

Steam: 2 million worldwide, 900k U.S.

Official Info:

Software:

1.) Call of Duty: Black Ops III - (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC | Actvision Blizzard) - Higher than Advanced Warfare, highest selling game since 2013
2.) Fallout 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC | Bethesda Softworks) - Up 70% versus Fallout: New Vegas and 9% versus Fallout 3 when adjusted for days in the month, more comparable to Skyrim
3.) Star Wars: Battlefront (PS4, Xbox One, PC | Electronic Arts) - Up 21% versus The Force Unleashed, the previous best selling Star Wars game (it had a worldwide LTD of over 7 million copies)
4.) Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3 | Electronic Arts)
5.) NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3 | Take-Two)
6.) FIFA 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3 | Electronic Arts)
7.) Need For Speed (PS4, Xbox One | Electronic Arts)
8.) Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One | Microsoft)
9.) Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (PS4, Xbox One, PC | Ubisoft)
10.) Just Dance 2016 (Wii, Wii U, 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 | Ubisoft)

“Fallout 4 performed extremely well. Adjusting for days within the data month, this was the best Fallout launch in the history of the franchise having sold over 70 percent more units than Fallout: New Vegas and 9 percent more units than Fallout 3. In fact, Fallout 4’s launch is more comparable to Bethesda Softworks’ other successful launch of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.” -NPD official quote

@FearMonkey: Steam numbers look similar for what's on Steam Spy, for what it's worth. They're unofficial too but use a crawler like Google does to index Steam/parse the data. Funnily enough looking at the chart there it looks like 27,045 people refunded their copy of Fallout 4 between 11/27 and 11/29.
@Irwin John Finster: Cool. :)

@Irwin John Finster: Oh god, you're always trying to stir an argument or derail a thread aren't you? Seeing that's all you've done for the most of your time spent here I really should just throw you on ignore or report your posts..
I really have no idea what you're on about, but since it clearly upset you I deleted the post. Good day. (And when I say Good Day, it means I want nothing to do with someone as hostile as yourself, so just leave me alone).

Perhaps it is YOU that is trying to "stir an argument" and "derail" this thread by threatening me because I posted my personal opinion regarding sales numbers vs. performance evaluation of video games.

In any case, you are clearly not someone I want any interaction with, so good day.
