Rumor: Fallout: New Vegas features

one more thing about this game: i sure hope they will use some proper ambient music for this game. Because one of the worst things about beths Fallout 3 was the soundtrack...god...it was HORRIBLE!

Will there be any chance that mark morgan will be making the soundtrack for the game? that would be like a dream come true!
Good God I hope they don't bring him back. I hated Fallout's soundtrack. Just moaning, a bongo riff here and there, and wind. It didn't even pick up when you got in a fight.

Are you serious?
The fallout games featured one of the best soundtracks in games I know, then they came up with this shit (fo3) and Inon Zur raped it to a new level with this orchestral shit. How can one find this actually good?

So what do you think is more fitting to the scenario? Crazy house/techno music? Thousands of Violins and War drums to make your warfare even more scarier? ;)

I don't know why it should be "boring". For me it fits perfectly to the scenario and I hope (and know ;) ) that it will be so at FONV.

:( fuck fuck fuck. i was really excited when i first read this. this has to be the worst cocktease i have had all year.

All three Fallout games have amazing atmospheric soundtracks. I expected to hate FO3 OST, but ended up loving it just as much as Morgan's work.
With that said, I would of course still like to see Morgan doing NV more than Zur, even if only for the old times sake..

something like this:

or anything similar to Brian Eno, Aphex Twin.

Or why dont we just go back and hire Mark Morgan again. Just for a change!

The orchestral is pretty good. I don't care for moaning and wind sounds, especially when there is a fucking gun fight going on.

An excellent idea!

Seriously, Morgan's music is just as a part of Fallout world as the Science! vibe is. It may not be very lively, but I can't imagine playing Fallout with anything diffrent. It just fits in, while not being frustrating or getting in the way.

Also, the music in that link you provided is barely adequate to Fallout, or even interesting.

Remember, though, Game Informer only denied that New Vegas is their next cover story. No one has denied anything about the description of the game (nor have they confirmed it). When asked, all anybody will say is that it's not Game Informer's cover.

Yeah, but if any of this is true, and it's in the next Game Informer, then what have they have found that is the cover story? Given that we've got Bethsoft PR on NV as well, what are the chances that they'd release this much information without without being sure that it would be the cover story?

I am also surprised that such article would not be a cover story. New Vegas IS a highly anticipated title after all, after all the hype around Bethesda's Fallout 3.

No, just no. Combat music is mood mashing and it's always badly implemented. Shifting to combat music destroys the atmosphere created by the previous score, and when you're constantly entering and exiting combat it really starts to get on the nerves....

I loved the original Fallout soundtracks, they were so good at defining different places and while not very good from a musical standpoint, they were perfect as soundtracks for that game.

i liked mark morgan's music because he managed to give a certain feel to each city or town.

when you hear the khan's berserk savage drums playing, you know you're in a bad place.
