Russian PC Igry Previews New Vegas

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
Russian magazine "PС Igry" (PC Games) previews Fallout New Vegas. Preview is badly written, but still there are some bits of new information:
- There is a skill "Survival" that determines how many HP will be recovered from eating and drinking. Also, it allows you to cook at the campfire.
- Regular geckos run like penguins and are easy to kill.

There are some new pictures also: rough black and white armor sketches and one more helmet sketch (one part of it has already been posted in PC Gamer preview).

Also, there's yet another picture of Dinky the Dinosaur, but now with one interesting detail - a Poseidon Energy sign.

For those who read Russian or just want to take a look at the article layout, the links to the scans are available at Ru.NMA newspost.

Thanks Incognito!

There are also two new screens in the preview - a landscape shot and a new shot of Dinky, with visible Novac and Poseidon Oil signs

EDIT: pages 13 and 14

I don't like them. Their condition is to good for a wasteland armor, unless they are newly made. Also, the colors are too dark. Come on, it's Vegas! Pimp them a little.

Which part of "NCR, the most powerful industrial presence in the wastes is the manufacturer of these armours" do you fail to understand?

When I see gas masks + Fallout I always have to think about what gas masks have to do with the Fallout games. In the original games was nowhere a gas mask, except in the power armors.

Not saying that its shice, but I also can't say that I like it, because it will always feel somewhat out of place to me.

Well, I think they've made so many gas masks just to hide those terrible gamebryo face models :)

They aren't that bad. They're decent, although they are very bad in comparison to games like Crysis.

Tycho had one and I'm sure other people would have had them if you could see them in higher detail. Again, graphical limitations play a part here.

I wish that Bethesda wasn't "always looking forward" because progress does destroy a lot of the style of the first game by necessity of progress. I like the concept art and all and it does make sense for the setting but it does feel less Fallout to me.

Yeah, I don't see why they are out of place, but never so widespread... There is not much need for gas masks anyway, in Fallout's world.

One thing that's totally out of place and I'm just waiting for it to appear on a Bethesda Fallout game is night vision :3

It's just the minor description of one dude in Fallout 1 and therefore the only "real" non-power armor gas mask in Fallout 1 and 2. Also didn't Jesse Heinig said, that it was just for teh lulz or something like this?

I don't really mind the gas-masks at all. I actually wanted to see one in the previous games but never got a decent one :(

Hey guys, look what I did:

Another news post, another discussion about gas masks.

Also I agree with 13pm, anything to hide them scary faces is a good thing.

Anyone who has ever worn a gas mask would never want to wear one unless it was absolutely necessary.

Maybe they're ultra-health conscious about inhaling any radioactive dust. It could also be allergies.

It feels to me like the gas mask is just a way to give the NCR it's own distinguishable style. Caesar's legion obviously has that whole roman thing going on, Obsidian just wants to give the NCR their own look too.

I personally quite like it, in a generic post apocalyptic sort of way, the kind were people were gas masks for no reason. And like people have said, anything to hide the faces.

Yes! I am even more stoked & wishing I didn't click on this site again as Brother None and everyone can't keep from posting every bit of info across the world on New Vegas  .

OK Gas Mask? Tactical special op looking gear that is awsome!

One thing people haft to realize, the game takes place 39 years after Fallout 2 and the Enclave was pretty tact out in Fallout 2 (Obviously in 3). The Brotherhood of Steel is basicly part of the NCR and then you haft to look at New Vegas, there is lot's of money & power there.

Man this is f*cking great, NCR has tactical forces I am really really hoping you don't just randomly see them walking around in the desert and hoping they are only seen on encounters or quest.

Man I slapping a Umbrella logo on that gear, that just gave me another character idea hoot Albert Wesker or Nicolia Yees!
