Sardine-Man

It doesn't seam to have any point. Some pictures pasted with some background and it's short. If it was like a one long episode, with a meaning for all of this, with some depth or anything, that would interest people, then maybe.
But with this what you're showing, it's nothing really.
 
Well, let's just say it's a beginning of a long story :). Check out this topic in a day or two - I'll be submitting new issues.
 
But it sucks.

When your story or a piece of anything (art, graphic novel, comic book, even a song or a movie), doesn't have much in it (nothing visually stunning, graphically artistic), then it's not worth showing such a short material to people.


I've done some stuff like that. Showing people unfinished or barely started material never worked.

People like to see the whole, final piece of work, not some scraps.
 
I can't post the whole thing at once. It looks kinda strange and pointless at the beginning but it isn't actually :mrgreen:.
 
It's humorous, I like the randomness of it all. But I hate the presentation. The images take too long to load, and the arrows are annoying. Why not make the whole thing at once and upload it as one big comicbook-like picture? The images can't take THAT long to compose.
 
Thanks :). The thing is... this the thing :mrgreen:. One of the major features of this comics is that you'll <s>almost</s> never know what is going to be next (even if you suspect something). This is why I prefer not to put everything together. Anyway, there will be more combined strips in the future.

Yes, and you can just click on the image to see the page with the next one.
 
Maybe if you could code it to where it only loads the next image. I don't know why that site is loading so slow, but I'm looking at 10 seconds between the time I click and the time the image loads, which is enough time for me to get bored and watch porn. And when porn comes on, everything is subjective. Even Sardine Man.
 
Heh, "...nothing can't stand the porn!". I don't know what is the problem with the loading times. I assume you have a good internet connection <s>if you can whatch porn</s> but the site is pretty light-coded as well (nevermind tons of grafix :mrgreen:).
 
Since it's in some kind of foreign language, I assume it's slow for being hosted on a server on mars.

I try to avoid all associations with cyrillic languages ever since I pissed off an elderly bulgarian man by calling his language a bunch of silly squiggles(I might have even mumbled something along the lines of "a retarded man's chinese"(...sorry if I offend...))

Anyways, how long will SM be? And how often do you update? I'll be an active fan if it's a few pics every couple days.

I'm getting ~1 second load times from florida. Perhaps your isp doesn't get along with sites hosted in Ukraine.


Anyway, on to the constructive criticism...


It doesn't appear to have much of a plot. It looks like you're trying to be random just for the hell of it, which many webcomics try; but very few can pull off without being shit.

I know you said that the plot would be addressed down the line, but if you don't grab your reader right off the bat; he probably isn't going to come back and give it a second chance. The pictures are also small and blurry, and not very entertaining to look at. Small is fine with simple drawn comics, but since yours has photographs in it; you want them to be high quality and crisp. It may not be possible to find the material you're looking for online in high quality, so why not take the pictures yourself? If you made the entire thing from pictures you've taken and shopped, at least you'd have an interesting style.

Last but not least; the dialog is bad, and not 'so bad it's funny' bad either.
 
Plot. I think that the main character appearance is a hell good reason to attract anyones attention. What is this thing? What he can do? How the heck that happened to him? What is going to be next? <s>How does he brush his teeth?</s>

I'll hardly find deserts here in the middle of Europe and mutated people with sardine heads are not common guests here either :D. The pop corn thing is real though.

Dialog. Those two issues doesn't have much of it. Leave this for the next one :).
 
I got a grin here and there, but the japanese invasion pic made me giggle something awful. I now officially love you. Load times are down to about 3 seconds each page too.
