"Shadowrun" question

NukeCoke

First time out of the vault
the SNES one.

the first guy i met was killed by a big one

his pistol dropped and i picked it.

then...how to shoot with it? i pressed "attack"and nothing happened.

i can't see the pistol in item window either.

sorry for my poor English and mixing up general knowledge but i

really mean the word "game-card"(or the word "game-pak")..

thank you..

A really old SNES/Genesis game.

SFC means Super Famicom, which was the Jap version of the SNES.

A 'ROM' is essentially a game (Typically old console games) that has been ripped and put into a format that can be played by using emulators on the PC.

wanna share some info about this game?

it's a cool SNES RPG with a distinct style, not in the same vein as all the Japanese style RPG's the SNES was flooded with
it has dark cyberpunk setting with some traditional fantasy elements; use of magic, cybernetic implants, different types of firearms, orcish gangs, dwarven mercenaries, maffia type wizards and hacking the "matrix" to gain cash and open doors
it has a bit of a mature theme; you play as a guy who wakes up in the morgue with amnesia, obviously someone wanted you killed, you have to find out who/what by talking to people, looking for clues and killing stuff
wandering the streets you could get suddenly shot at by hitmen peeping out of windows, you could kill some non-hostile characters and the game featured digitized death screams, this was quite grim for a SNES game
you gain karma by killing enemies which you can spend on stats and skills
you move your character using the d-pad, but you're able to switch to a mode featuring a mouse pointer looking like a hand to check out stuff and pick up items, this was quite unique for a SNES game, but for some stupid reason it wasn't compatible with the SNES mouse... during combat the pointer would turn into a reticle that you just move onto the opponent you want dead and keep pressing the same button to fire, which made combat rather shallow & clumsy
the game featured some very good music

Sorry, but the Megadrive/Genesis one is far superior.

It's way deeper, and the controls don't make me want to eat the bumper of a moving NJ Transit bus.

The SNES game would rule if it could be played with a mouse, but it can't so bleh.

I don't like having to scroll over a stupid reticle as some jerk in a dumpster unloads 15 clips into me by the time I can aim at him to fire back.

I know that's a gross exaggeration, but if you have a problem with it, you can go to a public restroom and lick the doorhandle.

Gimme CP2020 over Shadowrun any day. Magic + Neuroware just doesn't mix well thankyeekindly.

And woodgy shit versus a Sovware cyberlimb, pfft, please that woodgy critter's gonna go splat but good.

Stupid shamans...

thank u sir~

Shadowrun is way better as a P and P roleplaying game though. I wish they would have made a modern RPG version of it instead of the gay ass shooter.

I think the genesis game is a more faithful adaptation of P&P shadowrun, but I could never get that into it and all I could find to do in it was repeatedly slay ghouls for some guy in a bar, or go into random buildings looking for some Macguffin.

I think the SNES version is a way better as a game, I'll agree about the shoddy interface, but that one held my interest enough for multiple play throughs over the years. I go back and try to get into the genesis one every now and again and just cant do it.

And yeh the SNES one is a pre-torment game where you wake up in a morgue with amnesia! those planescape folks are unoriginal hacks! ;) (just kidding of course, just started a new round of the torment a few days ago, god what a masterwork)

tried the Genesis one.i think there are more cyberpunk elements in it.

Arcanum really got something from the game

the cybercombat(cracking ICE ) is interesting, but i'm confused about how the system judging your Attack is Hit or Miss..

Attacking the same CPU ,you can Hit 5 times continuously with Level2-Attack to win. and Missing 10 times continuously or more with a Level4-Attack can also happen.(I really tried a lot,it's a hard process..=.,= )

anyway, selling files to a Fixer makes me good ;)

Aye, last year had a 8 month long SR P&P campaign with some friends, first time I'd played SR P&P but damn it was fun.

Shame what they did to the modern one though, shooter only? Bah.

That killed me when I found out. It went like this:

OMG a new Shadowrun game.What?It's a shooter.What the fuck?!

I agree. Genesis one is like a 16 bit Fallout minus the setting. It has a pretty cool setting of its own though.

I've been addicted to it these past few days. Good thing I can play it on my DS. 8-)

Right on. Played it about a month ago and was once again blown away by how complex it is, especially for a 16 bit game. SNES version was plain odd and a completely different game. A remake of that Genesis one could have been something.
