Slayer and Silent Death; Melee weaponable? Moddable?

Thacker

First time out of the vault
So hopefully the title says it all. It's been along time since I played through either Fallout to a level high enough to get either of these perks. I don't recall them being usable with melee weapons, though maybe I'm mistaken.

I have Killaps Restoration Mod for FO2 and TeamX 1.3.5 for FO1 running, do either of those perhaps include this functionality (didn't see any mention of it in readme, so I doubt).

Finally, for those with experience, is something that could be (easily) modded? If I were to take a stab at this (first attempt modding FO), where would be a good place to start in the Documents/Tutorials section?

Thanks for any help!

it is possible, but only with sfall and hook scripts, ive done something similar but it isnt complete, and it definety isnt simple, quite involved actualy, also sfall hook on damage script(the one you would have to use) has a bug that occationaly will return massive damage(8 digit),sometimes the engine ignores it other times it is insta death

well, slayer is already a melee/unarmed only perk., dont know what you're trying to do with that.

Is it? As I said originally it's been a long time since I played the game to a high enough level to get the perk, but I don't recall Slayer effecting melee weapons.

Also, Nirran's comment seems to imply that Slayer does not work with melee weapons either (though he may have just been referencing Silent Death).

Can someone confirm/deny?

donno about fo1,this is dirrect from perk descripts msg file in fo2,i always assumed it was strickly for unarmed, quite possible im wrong

Code:
{1124}{}{The Slayer walks the earth!  In hand-to-hand combat all of your hits are upgraded to critical hits, causing destruction and mayhem.}

The perk wasn't built in in FO1 because you couldn't reach the required level (24). ;)

I also think that slayer only affects hand to hand combat like it's written in the description. But would be cool if melee weapons are also affected.

Every documentation I can find shows Slayer/Silent Death available at 18 in FO1, and 24 in FO2. Are you mistaken or am I reading from bad intel?

I'm pretty sure I got Slayer in my first run through of FO1 (like 10+ years ago...), I also recall getting to at least level 21.

How has this become so complicated, does no one have a save game in FO1 or 2 with Slayer/Silent Death

Ok, you just made me reinstalling my FO1 and loading an old savegame since I couldn' find it anywhere else. :D

You're right and I'm a moron, there IS the perk in FO1. Strangely the vault wiki shows, that I need atleast Agility 8, Strength 8, Unarmed 80% and as you said level 18 to get it. Strangely I play the unarmed character, strength is 10, unarmed at 160 and agility 8, still I could not choose the perk. oO That's crazy, because I played FO1 especially so many times and wasn't able to get this perk.

I've got another savegame with level 16 so I try it again, I'll upload it when I just need a few points for level 18 for testing purposes...

I don't know if sfall works with FO1, but I could imagine that this'd help modding the perk.

yes, slayer affects melee exactly the same as bonus HtH attacks/damage affect melee. this is not a real complicated thing to grasp.
