So can we or can we not attack the groin ?

Still Mildly Glowing
I read(today) this at [/url]www.gamingunion.net that the fore does attack the groin also..I recall reading on several sites that you couldn't .I wonder whats the whole mix up is about.

The way that Fore works is that it's essentially just a winded up golf swing, a lot of places just assumed that it was an attack to the groin, but it's really just hitting whatever is in the way.

There is no separate groin target in New Vegas, just like in F3.

The fore! == groin hit was a misbelief by at least one journalist and has been carried over since then from preview to preview. But if you check out the few fore!-screenshots, you can see pretty good, that it's no groin hit.

It has no effect. The game simply takes it as leg or torso hit, depending on how the hit zones are defined on the model.

Hitting a Super Mutant with an extremely dramatic VATS hit in the groin would be hilarious.

*Power fist on groin*

Ha! ha! Stupid Human!

*Gets skull shamed by super sledge*

The knockdown effect was nice, esp if you didn't have a chance to hit the eyes. It's also a habit after years of FPS gameplay, where the primary objective is "shoot 'em in the dick."

I wish you can do some more damage to your own groin in NV, aside from single handed action... Fallout 3 didn't have nearly enough ladies up for any of that.

I actually never thought I'd miss it, but after the fling-a-ding in Megaton I was very dissapointed indeed - sleeping with the prostitute is the same as just renting an overpriced room. I understand that Fallout had the mysterious fad-to-black and the Dialogue screen folds down and them back up again to indicate that you were not just talkin' during the hour that passed, but Bethesda made a great 3D game with bloom and shit and all you get is a different dialogue option and lose some money.

It would be cool if the "lady" took your hand, looked you deeply in the eyes and walked you towards the door before a fade-out. Having NSF video action with sound would be a little *cough* tasteless, though, even if most 16yo kids will cream their pants in 0.001 seconds just from surprise and afterward from delight.

...

I know I kind of grave-digged, but I thought it'd be OK, cause I kind of tried to find balance in the gray area between changing the subject and just blatantly heading off topic

Ok, why are people treating dick shots like they're a deal breaker?
Everyone here loves teh cock.
But seriously, groin hits actually had a purpose.
They knock the enemy down, causing him to loose AP or sometimes a whole turn.
Of course, in Fallout 3 they are not needed anymore.
Although I'm suprised that Bethesda didn't add them, advertising them as mature content.
You know, like a slo-mo bullet to the dick and the classic announcer voice "DA-DA-DA-DICKSHOT!!" *Achievement unlocked*

I'm with Gaspard. Shit, even if they did something like the ultra-tame, not-even-close-to-soft-core porn shots from Mass Effect would've been an improvement. Make it a bit interesting or something.

Except the romance sub plot was completely pointless in Mass Effect and would probably be more so here.

Oh god no. No romance please :D just a hint that there's something going on would be enough. Something to reward the lightening of my purse

It's not necessarily pointless; in ME1 it can some tension to the end of Virmire. I really don't remember ME2 since I only played it once, but it was entertaining/hilarious to bang Tali or Garrus, so I fail to see how it's pointless.

I don't think romance would be needed (or really welcome, but I'm all for the additional freedom to for your character to have a bit more emotion.), but I'm just saying that ME made it apparent that two people were getting it on with just a little bit of skin. Just a suggestion.
