Is it just my brain farting or have I seen all this around the NMA forums already?

Hey, don't mind me, I'm just a lowly newbie.

Cool stuff you posted, nonetheless.

Bits here and there. The steampunk keyboard was mentioned in a thread in the Order (though keep in mind that as a separate, hosted forum, threads with concurrent topics don't matter) and the boiler robot had a thread in General Discussion not to long ago. The laptop is completely new however.

In any case, I was planning on either creating a new steampunk thread or resurrecting an old one for some new steampunk gadgets. This gives me a good opportunity, so without further ado...

The first exhibit is a video of a mechanical tiger from Belgium. There is a small photo gallery as well, showing off some wonderful metal work.

The other item is a quirky website, which sells Dr. Grordborts Infallible Aether Oscillators. Or for the non-scientifically minded of our gentle readers, 'rayguns.'

The website also has some interesting testimonials and artwork. Worth a look through.

Testimonials said:
Lord Vizier Ct'honal, a grotesque insult to nature and apparently the High General of the Vanguriz Interstellar Invasion Forces, has attempted to apply its feeble alien intellect to written communication, we present the results:

"Earthling known as Dr. Grordbort,
Realize that your simple human brain is but 1/5 the size of ours, and encased in a thin bone structure just millimetres thick. And yet, I must congratulate you on your recent, blatant, attempt to copy the weapons of destruction that we have long kept as standard issue for exploratory excursions to your mud ball called Earth.
It must have been that idiot Tzz'rrl who left his Vangurizan FleshMelter on what he thought was an inanimate furred log while he relieved himself of pent up gases. When he turned around, the furred log, which was in actuality a sheep, had fled in terror when Tzz'rrl began his gaseous exhalations. Typically, we Vangurizan's need only use two pseudopods to relieve our gases, but that idiot Tzz'rrl horribly damaged one beyond repair while tinkering with one of our ships warp coils. But I digress. It seems the Chit-Chanos aren't the only sentient beings that have knowledge of reverse engineering. The component located on the top of the "Goliathon 83" is obviously a Vangurizan Particle Phrasologislator. The blue and red diodes located on the rear of the weapon can only be an earthlings attempt at creating a time-matter flow restorer.
Your attempts at weapon creation should be applauded; however, pseudopods make a wholly different sound when clapped together. Know that the idiot Tzz'rrl is no longer allowed to set tentacle off of the ship. Know that we have obtained a copy of the "Goliathon 83". Know also that our galactic patent officers are very well educated in Earthling law, and that they will make sure you product is sold in limited quantities so that our invasion...er peaceful journeying continues unabated."

That would be from Crabfu Steamworks, previously linked to in the "Steambots" thread. It is another interesting website, besides all sorts of interesting gizmos (my favorite is the Steam Centipede, make sure to watch the movie at the bottom of the page) there is "How to Draw SteamPunk Machines." All about how to draw semi-plausible steampunk designs.

RLH, please don't double post. If you want to add something new to a thread you have the last post in, you can edit it in easily.

Oh, thanks for the How to Draw SteamPunk Machines webpage, Kotario. As a fanboy and an artist, I am very fond to steampunk aesthetics. That site will be handy.

I just had a cool steampunk dream. I was at a local cathedral but on the inside it was turned into a sort of temple to sciences and reason. There was some other completely awesome stuff including, but not limited to, William Shakespeare, a hovering reception desk, hard-boiled detectives, a car like the one from ELoG and a cute girl in a long coat.

My dreams rock.

Why do artists seem to feel the need to give people two guns?

I liked this. Any one think that some of the steampunk car's would fit the fallout setting just a idea.

I feel for you...and don't worry everyone I won't go into all the specifics of Arcanum or it'll derail the thread.

Sincerely,
