Strange dreams anyone?

Mildly Dipped
We all know dreaming is the most bizarre realm of consciousness possible. Even your own imagination, no matter how fertile, could come up with some of the things dreams seem to make possible.

Last night I had this dream (second time I had it now) where I was having a good time generally, out and about on the promenade, with friends, eating snacks and drinking socially, when a tooth in my mouth came loose. Some minutes later, another one. Then another one. Then a fragment on another one. There was blood. In panic and confused, I rushed to the nearest clinic thinking they could somehow be re-attached. Then what seemed like a row of teeth still connected to the jaw seemed to have just come loose.

Strange shit I tell you.

Anybody have any similar experiences?

Recently I've had two odd dreams.

The first: I was in a university of some sort. Large place, with unusually tall ceilings and lockers, with a highly saturated color to everything. I was rushing to get to the gymnasium before class began but had lost my way and nobody would help me. Everyone thought I was a member of a local mafia and hated me for it, calling me all sorts of nasty things. I ducked into a bathroom and saw my reflection in the mirror with a very noticeable unibrow. When I woke up, I groggily shuffled into the bathroom to pluck my eyebrows and was genuinely surprised to find the same two eyebrows I've always had.

The second: I was in my room, watching my nephew play a game on a console. He was asking me something that was making me extremely irate and he wouldn't stop. I tried striking him a few times, but my arms were weak and slow as if the blood flow had been restricted for a long while, and I could never connect. I forget what else happened. When I woke up, I felt bad that I would want to hit my nephew, even in a dream.

Hey! i have the same recurrent one with the teeth, except that I am sleeping while i am loosing them, and choking with them, then spitting them.
My dreams are the only place where my conscience can get through me...

Slow-mo. Happens every single time to me, without fail, when I need to run. Can be against bullets, ghosts, criminals, the world around me zooms past me in normal speed, but my pace is actually in slow motion.

Actually the dream with losing teeth is pretty common. I'm not sure about the cause, maybe it has to do with teeth grinding overnight.

I had a dream that I was in some random dudes house, pissing all over the living room. I think it was alecs

My dreams hardly ever make sense even to me. If I would tell them to anyone, I'd be declared batshit insane.

Well, go ahead, share. You can't control what you dream, nobody is going to judge you lol

Most of my dreams don't make sense either.

I had to listen to a fight between my neighbors the other night. One of them came over and apologized and told me what happened. Basically, the other roommate got seriously drunk, woke up in the middle of the night and started peeing on the first, and sober, roommate's coffee table. First roommate got pissed, second roommate said "it's cool, I'm in the woods".

I haven't laughed that hard in a good, long time.

I haven't been able to remember any of my dreams in a long time. I know I have them, I remember being aware that I'm dreaming, but when I wake up, nothing.

I've had some weird dreams in the past...and no I am not insane

When I was little my first nightmare was about firemen coming to kill about 20 kids including me in one room. They told us via loudspeaker to hide and they would come in in 20 minutes. Guess who they found...

Had two separate nightmares about Alice in Wonderland.

I had a series of dreams that I had a time stopping watch (BEFORE the movie timestoppers!) in which I would press the "mode" button on my watch (bottom lefthand corner) and time would freeze. Eventually, my enemies caught up and would strap my free hand down so I couldn't freeze time.

I had a series of dreams, all in different locales (space, jungle, etc), where my Dad and I had to throw up. He told me to throw up in his mouth, so I lay on top of him and do so.

I had a dream that everybody at my school thought I was gay (I'm not). They came to my house and were trying to beat me up/kill me I don't know. I tried asking one of my best friends why he was doing it, and he responded, "I don't want you to rape me," in a very serious tone.

more if I remember.

Damn, I thought I was the only one that had the teeth falling off dream.

My dreams are usually what people describe as nightmares. I say nightmares because the dreams always cause me grief and discomfort.

A most recurring dream is my version of the teeth problem: I'm walking inside an American High School. The sun is starting to fall and I'm alone, walking the silent hallways. There is no creepiness because everything is well illuminated but the discomfort comes from being alone. While I'm walking, I push my teeth from behind with my tongue. Amazingly, I discover that the teeth are quite loose. I grab my left front incisor with my right hand and wiggle it very softly...the tooth comes off with a slight sting of pain. No blood and no pain remain afterward. After pulling most of my teeth off, my retarded ass finally realizes that something is wrong and decide to look for the school nurse. When I reach the office...I wake up.

Another very recurring dream is leaving my house after seeing a white flash of sunfire-like light. Though in the dream I'm not aware of it, after finding piles of ashes amidst discarded clothing I realize that we have been attacked with a nuclear weapon. -- This dream, most likely developed after first learning of neutron bombs. Bombs that would kill people and leave buildings and the landscape untouched (I have come to know now, that neutron bombs still have the same blast and heat as a regular nuke...that's why they are called radiation-enhanced weapons and not neutron bombs). -- While I walk amongst the piles of ash, I realize that the feeling of disconnection and distant pain means that I am one of the walking dead. A walking ghost. I usually wake up after this realization or after travelling to my relatives' dwellings and find ashes amongst ashes in there.

My most awesome dream was this (this one occurred when I was at school, I'm 26 now BTW): one morning, after waking up with a feeling of sadness and emptiness, I arrived at school. As I sit on my desk, the air around me felt like cold jelly and felt sucked inwards (read imploding)...gradually I lost consciousness. When I came to, I was laying on a dirt road in the middle of a bamboo forest. With nothing better to do (I had no belongings and was still wearing my school uniform), I picked a direction of the road at random and started walking down it. After a while, I heard a roar in the forest behind me. I turned around and saw the biggest and angriest motherfucking black panther I had seen...its feline eyes watching me with carnivorous intent. I did what any man would have and started running. I didn't feel tired or exhausted but the chase became wearisome. I never get eaten by the panther but I do not get away either. I remain running. Forever and ever.

OMG YOU FREAK! Get out of here man!

lol just kidding... I never really could stop time, sadly. I have however realised I was dreaming, and its actually like playing God. You wish something and it happens lol. Unfortunately when it gets to that point it always seems to end abruptly.

OMG thats right! The first time a tooth falls out, is when I 'probe' it with my tongue, and realise its loose. Then I touch it with a finger, and realise its ready to come off. Then it just comes off realy easily. At first you don't realise this is abnormal, you just think 'Wow, I still had an old milk tooth. Who would have thought!'

Its only after the second, third and so on start falling out you realise there is something wrong.

And your dream of the nuclear fallout was really creepy btw.

Dreamt that I was fucking my mum...several times. At least I didn't wake up with an erection nor did I soil my sheets.

recently had a dream in which I was in a shop, it appeared to be a quite expensive and exclusive shop, and my current GF was in the dream, she began to cut expensive curtains and dresses up and seemed quite happily-hysterical at doing so, all the while I'm getting more and more worried about her actions saying things like "stop!" and "do you realise what your doing?" this continued in the background as I notice an electronic till keeping track of the cost of her mad hackings and such the total is about 1 years wages (we live on the 'poor' side of getting by so the idea of an entire years wages being charged sends me into shock almost!)

I woke shortly after this.

reminds me of that pbf comic about that dude that dreamed about an elephant (seems he removed that comic, otherwise I would post it)

As for me: If I dream (and remember it) I dream about familymembers that died. Dreams are always happy and really nice, realizing that it was just a dream after waking up is the nightmare part.

You guys sound like girls, yapping about your dreams as if anybody gave a damn about it.

Slow-mo. Happens every single time to me, without fail, when I need to run. Can be against bullets, ghosts, criminals, the world around me zooms past me in normal speed, but my pace is actually in slow motion.

Myeah. That's due to the fact your body is pretty much paralyzed during sleep, hence the sluggish feeling.

I tell you, there's nothing worse in sleeping-time than your body locking down and you retaining consciousness, unable to make any kind of movement whatsoever, remaining in that half-awoken state until you gather enough energy to painstakingly move a finger and kick your motor neurons back in gear.

Clearly people do give a damn about it, as the replies seem to indicate, which is more than I can say for my other, rather unsucessful thread.

Giving a damn does not preclude talking about something.

Im sure people didn't give a damn about the composition of atoms centuries ago, but that didn't stop people from talking and researching about it, eventually leading to the harnessing of nuclear power, that makes our beloved Fallout universe possible in the first place.

Well that is the interesting part, all other functions like walking, running, talking, moving around are normal. Its only during danger that running in particular is affected.

And yes, sleep paralysis is the worst affliction ever, especialyl if you happen to be in a very unconfortable position, which inevitably is always the case.

Worded it badly, my mistake. What I meant is that some of you remind me of a few girls I know, who assume all people care about their dreams, and are free to flap their jaw about it excessively.

Running and fighting, from what I've experienced. Legs made out of rubber, slow mo punches, et cetera.

I've had it several times now. So far, none of my dreams are prophetic so I don't worry about the implications of them. Oh and I forgot to include the worst nightmare I've had:

--I live with my dad in an apartment and my bro lives with my mom, our parents are divorced...I dream this by the time my bro was getting his driver's license--

An afternoon, while I was sitting in my apartment, doing nothing, my dad came in with a strange look in his face. Not sad, not happy, emotionally numb comes to mind. He just says hello and goes to his room, locking his door. He clearly didn't want to be disturbed and he does this from time to time, when he is feeling moody. Its useless to talk to him when he does this as he'll evade the issue and won't tell.

The phone rings and an indifferent voice tells me that I need to go to the hospital, something about my brother having a car accident. The next part is illogical because if this had happened, I would have gotten my dad out of the room and told him to drive us to the hospital but please bear with me. I hailed a cab and got to the hospital. At the administration, they don't know my brother and can't tell me which is his room. I asked several people, growing more desperate. Eventually I bump into an older doctor that smelled odd...a chemical odor. He looks at me intently and asks me if I'm Danny's brother --my bro is called Daniel-- . I answered in the affirmative and asked him how my brother was. Wordlessly, he took me to a different section of the hospital where it smelled like him. On a row of beds covered with white sheets, lay a body with my brother's name written into a tag on his big toe. My brother's body had a nasty bruise on the neck. There were some minor grazes and a busted nose but no fatal injuries. The body was highly cyanotic (it was blueish) and the coroner explained to me that when my brother's car crashes, he survived but the wreckage blocked his hands from moving and the seat belt slowy strangled him to death. I awoke in tears, I was crying like I hadn't in years...I didn't get that much sleep that night. When I saw my brother alive and well I was relieved. I haven't had that dream ever since. I like to think my subconscious learned a lesson that day...there are lines never meant to be crossed and this shit was neither funny nor enlightening in the least. I learned nothing except that I love my brother very much. It felt as if my mind was deliberately trying to inflict me pure emotional pain. Fuck dreams...fuck them, fuck Hypnos, fuck Morpheus and fuck the subconscious.
