Stupid things happen to stupid people. Like Bioware.

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I bought Knights(pronounced-kinigit) of the Old Republic 2 weeks ago and i must say...FUCK YOU bioware. What, what were they thinking when they made this game. It is the most newbie, 8 year old orientated RPG i have ever played. It reeks of bad design everywhere. I arrive on Tatooine and marvel at all the stuff there is to do and then i find out that about 4 doors open. I see a tall building up there but can i reach it, no. You can't even look up or down when in the third person mode. And whose stupid idea was it to make it third person anyway. The textures look all the same when in third person but when you look at them up close there nice and detailed. Half the races don't even have there own speech and if they do, it contains only 4 lines of spoken dialogue. Hearing the same 2 lines of dialogue in a row from that same stupid flat faced alien just ruins the game. The game has no exploration either and it's all very lightweight. It's essentially just a 3rd person shooter with an inventory. It's just so simple. If only it had taken a leaf or maybe 300 from Morrowind's book and created a massive, freeform RPG. Oh yeah, you can really explore 7 worlds. I look at Manaan and think, wow, what a pretty place. I get skeptical when i see the horribly pixelated water in the fountain and then i turn round the corner and BAM, thats it, nothing much else. The game is such a typical linear action game. You can't even jump or attack people at will yet the games characters can. They are even afraid of you even though you can't hurt them unless they get angry at you, so essentially, if they just don't do anything then you can't attack them. It's so crap. I this what passes for game design these days. This kind of shit. I am really pissed off with you bioware. You could have made the greatest RPG ever but you went down the "linear, 8-year old, G rated" path. I hope you die bioware. So i took the game back and got an equally crap game: Soul Calibur 2. Boring.

Well, let's wait at least until Fallout 3 before we give up all the hope...

Ahhhh...a review of KOTOR from my most hated magazine: Official Australian Xbox Magazine. They gave it 9.5/10..........um.....what. They said that it's only bad points were that there was no stormtroopers and no princess Leia. Is that right OAXM?. Are those the only problems with the game?. IMMERSION:This is arguably the most immersive and complete world ever created on Xbox. How about Morrowind you dumb f*cks. That is 20 times the size of KOTOR's supposed "entire planets". The entire game can be finished in about a week of average playing and theres not even any guilds or factions to join. Oh yeah i've got a good idea, let's blow up Taris at the start of the game meaning you can't go back there and finish the side quests. Great design biof*ck. LIFESPAN: A whole universe complete with a thousand different paths to explore and numerous worls to visit. Are you blind OAXM?. KOTOR is set in a small galaxy made up of a measly 7 planets, one of which gets blown up. What are these different paths you can take. I never encountered different paths except for the dark side and the light side paths. I don't even think this is the Australian version of the mag. It's got that light hint of crapness only found in British magazines. All were getting is the British magazine with a few changes. All the reviewers look british and use british words like snog etc. And whats with them pointing out the blatantly obvious in there captions. Look at that man, he is jumping. Captions are supposed to be funny. They over rate every game they get there hands on. Is the American OXM mag this bad?.

I've got the game as well, it's not that bad really, it isn't exactly fallout, but it is still better than most other rpg's I've played. For instance i found games like BG and BG2 to be way too linear and boring, and Morrowind to be too broad in character advancement, and I've resartet the game like 70-80 times to find a character that I'd like, and got slightly tired of it. I'll say more when I've finished the game (that's going to take a long time because I'm currently playing another game as well and don't have that much time)
