It Wandered In From the Wastes
I was playing Fallout 2 and the darnest thing just happened. I was attacked by a junkie in Den. Okay, nothing much special about that. What is special is that he hit me maybe ten times (though only two of those connected). After a round of beating he had the bright idea of running away, which he proceeded to do for about thirty paces! So here I have a junkie in Den who has at least 30 action points!

Shamefully I did not save my game when this was happening. I loaded a game shortly before this happened, and have been unable to produce that. Though I did notice that apparently whatever caused the insane increase in action points also gave the junkie the guts to attack my character. I'm using killap's latest patch, though as far as I know that should have nothing to do with this.

Also, he must have taken jet, then more Jet, then... And you must have saved interminently.

Or something like that.
 
Okay, a similar event happened. A junkie attacked me in Den and took five swings at me. The more striking thing was that two nearby neutral junkies moved about 20 paces when running away. I tried saving right there during the battle, but it appears that whatever causes this doesn't carry on to the save.
 
The Den addicts always have lots of AP, probably part of the critter definition. They're hyperactive, see.
