SW: KOTOR MMO

And let me be the first to say that it looks like crap. It doesn't sound horrible, I love the 'no saving' part when it comes to big decisions. I don't see what specific advantages there are in making it a MMO though.

meh... it really looks like crap.
they lost the style of KotOR games. Those screens and concepts look like something from Final Fantasy or that stupid The Force Unleashed.

Looks more like generic sci-fi than SW. Too shiny and polished.

I think it looks great. I love the KOTOR games so I'm definitely curious about this.

Meh, what is the point anymore?

I liked Kotor 1 and 2 but I won't spend money on a Kotor MMO.

I guess MMO is the buzzword now.

Looks like every single game out there is going to be turned into MMO's. Isn't the market fairly saturated already?

yeah, it's a really annoying trend.

but the thing is that it's easily the best way for a company to make money. think about it, even the less successful names probably bring in more money than big single-player games.

the monthly subscription quickly adds up and there's no such thing as pirating - everyone playing the game has bought their copy.

and especially in these times, where Blizzard will probably buy the earth any moment now, everyone obviously wants to make the same kind of money. and the consumers buy into the next hyped mmorpg after the other, hoping it will be the next WoW.

They said something about game having an a actual storyline which the player can follow and have a experience like in a single player game. It would be fun in mmorpg to actually have several ways of solving the quests and to take alternative paths in storyline. Imagine playing as a jedy and in a middle of a story become sith and become double agent for Empire. But thats something that probably will never be done since its more fun to grind.

If there'll be a monthly fee, then screw this game. Either make it free2play with buyable content (like Rappelz or Silkroad) or make it a pay once - play forever game, cause I'm not going pay every goddamn month like the WoW suckers.

Other than that, this *could* be interesting. Shame there'll be no KotOR 3. As I stated before, I'm not interested in paying for it eternally - I want a solid single-player experience, not another grinder with elements of story.

So far what the development team has mentioned is the focus on story and choice/consequences. But, if the gameplay is lousy no amount of story can save it.

If Bioware RPGs already seem watered down and simplistic (not much choice for the player), I wonder how that will turn out in this MMO.
