Terminator Salvation retail PC version broken

That's right, PC gamers got screwed again, apparently.

The PC DVD version of Terminator Salvation isn't working - it was shipped with a broken installer. There's no fix. What is particularly funny (or not, if you bought this trash) is that the publisher, Evolved Games, is completely ignoring all cries for help - their email and phone number don't work. Meanwhile, those who opted for the downloadable version are happily enjoying the game (or not, because it's allegedly extremely short - ca 4 hours of gameplay).

I didint even know that was out yet. Still this happens a lot with movie titles, they keep rushing them and then they crash and burn.

It is a shame too, the terminator series really lends itself to games.

Edit: had I purchsed it I probably would have been fine though, I get everything online now. Last retail copy of something I bought was CIV 4 Beyond the Sword or the Total War expansion with Azteks, I dont remember which came out first around then.
 
I didn't buy it, it's not out in Estonia. Not planning to either. Just stumbled upon this story. What boggles my mind is that the published didn't check before shipping if the game is even installable.
 
Wow, and I was actually considering getting this game.

If the installer is broken and the Publisher doesn't even bother to respond to the justified complaints about that, what about any ingame material that is buggy or broken.

This will probably end up as an average movie to game conversion.
 
Bethesda? They're not even involved in the making of this game. It's developed by GRIN and published by Equity Games and Evolved Games.

Pwned as in they found a studio releasing titles that are broken even worse than their DLCs.
 
Evolved has now reacted with an official statement:
Unfortunately a defect occurred during replication of the PC version of Terminator Salvation, which does not allow end users to install the game. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are not affected and function properly. We have recalled all PC copies of Terminator Salvation from retail in North America and are currently in the process of replicating new copies. The new copies will be on store shelves in a few days. A replacement plan for all end users that purchased the defective units is currently being set up. Details to get a replacement copy will be announced shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused the end users that purchased the defective copy.

At least they came with a proper answer to the problem. But I still can't understand how this happenned in the first place...How long does it take to take one copy amongst the shitload of copies that are ready to ship to retail across North America and to install it on a random computer ? Probably, like, 10 minutes ?
 
It's a movie tie in, shipping with a broken installer is a personal favour from the publisher/developer to you.

Its that short?
Guess its the second shortest Terminator game released with the Megadrive/Genesis version of Terminator 1 still on top.
 
Movie tie-in games always sucks, rush-job to get more money before the whole thing is cooling down.
And most of them were published by EA, and Activision.

Terminator 3 The Redemption was actually pretty fun to play.

I also liked the old The Terminator Sega CD game and Terminator: Dawn of Fate.

But yeah, its a shame that the Terminator Salvation game suffers the usual movie tie-in curse.

Its funny, I heard that the mobile phone game is actually the best of the bunch.

You know, for the Iphone it actually looks pretty good IMO, perhaps they should release this for the mobile consoles as well.
