Is it just my game, or does the QM at Delta Bunker get really really tight? I keep going out and taking out reavers and muties and bringing their gear back and he just doesn't give me crap for them. And my barter is at 92%, so he shouldn't be that bad to me.

Only way around it I find is to sell stuff to the medic or doctor, or Kerr usually to get a decent amount of scrip for it. Then go back to the QM depot and buy what you want.

Any other suggestions?

your 92% barter is rather unimpressive..
I took rage's barter to 210%, comparing with my main, who have -2% for barter..

rage
-get slightly more than twice the money for selling
-buys at about half price

so I'm assuming if I am to get it to 300%, with salesman perk, I can probably make money selling and buying, and that every 200% means you sell your goods at double the rate while buying at half

When you get to bunker 3, recruit Stumpy & gamble for EVERYTHING!

Yeah that's what I did. I even took it one step further and had stumpy gamble with the quartermaster for all the drugs I had sold him previously, I'd win the drugs and then immeadiatly sell them back for around $25000 and then simply repeat it :) great way to stock up on cash.

Well I'm sorry to dissappoint you Whatever, however if you took the time to actually read my question you'd see I wasn't out to impress anyone. And your reply isn't so much an answer as it is apparently a chance for you to brag.

The value drops dramatically after the first few examples of each item. Unless your Barter is astronomical (but why waste those points there?) you'll probably always get the short end of the stick. I made Stitch my trader with Barter at 120% but the prices on some of the items are still obscene.

What I usually do is hunt around the base for any other traders to deal with and either trade/gamble with them first to get better deals on common stuff like AK47s. I try to save the scrip and only do straight Barters for stuff like ammo. I also steal pretty much everything from everybody on base to save on costs.

I guess the designers intended to address this in a future expansion pack: Fallout Trader - Brotherhood of Script ;)

well.. everyone have this idea that as long as a skill is 100%+, it's as good as you'll ever need it.. WRONG !

Skill limit in tactics is 500% as much as I know, there's no curve that higher skill points are not as useful as lower skill points (other than guns.. which max out around 150% since stupid gun's range ALL sucks, and when you reach the range limit, skill and perception doesn't help crap) .. anyway, every skill's the same, the higher the better !

when I got my rage to around 250% barter skill with salesman perk, I can buy and sell the same item at approximately the same price, and since rage's just tagging along every mission so he can raise barter skill.. that doesn't matter a bit with me
