The Last of Us Details Revealed

Judging by the trailer, I'd say this could end up being a load of different stuff. It'll most likely be a stupid shooter with boring levels and boring enemies and loads of boring uninteresting irrelevant motionsickness-inducing first person special killing moves, but it could also be a fantastically tactical action game with no focus on useless stuff (like loads of different items or skills) and with a great level of freedom and awesome level design.

I think a really well done post-apoc survival game would be awesome. One where you have to get out to find food and amunition since its extremly rare and you need food to survive.

The other night I dreamed I shot a zombie neatly between the eyes using a trusty m/45 Bertil.

And with that I was out of ammo, but not out of zombies.

The Japanese love the Daugther father relationship, there has been an almost surreal amount of stories with that.
Also I played Uncharted..... It was a good Indiana Jones esque adventure, the gameplay was kind of meh, so really not much interest in this, unless it's a graphic/visual adventure game "cinematic" experiences bore the crap out of me.

The general feel of the trailer is pretty positive. Instead of gray-brown there's lush vegetation. There's a strong emotional/storyline element of father/daughter. Authenticity seems to be high with the ammo scavenging, the combat mechanics, the relationship.

I'm not hoping for too much since this is a console-kiddy game and too much complexity makes console gamers heads hurt - which pretty much makes the resource management aspect of survival null and void. Console players are known to be trigger-happy and I wouldn't expect the studio to go against the popular trend of more dakka. In the end we'll probably have another Dead Space clone, albeit with a pretty neat storyline.

So uh, is that kid's look modeled very closely on Ellen Pagein Juno or is that just me? Same hair, same face-ish, same clothes-style-ish.

Nice trailer though.

PS: I do enjoy how Youtube comments are completely focused on the console slug-o-war. Aren't we over that yet?

Ah, yes - finally the haunting resemblance clicked in place.

I completely agree!

Juno is a good movie by the way.

Because people who don't enjoy the same things as you are stupid

Something I've noticed a while ago: Is Sabirah the defender of the oppressed? Seems to me like that. :>

Not really. I just hate when people think they are better than other people for arbitrary things like race or what thing they enjoy

What if I enjoy cutting off peoples' faces and wearing them while I do the black swan routine in front of a mirror?

Thanks for the observation, I've noticed that too.

That's what I was trying to get at. The only empires/civilizations/what have you I can conclusively call "evil" are the mongols and the Aztecs. Everything else has been shades of grey.

*naw its alright. We all have our moments :P

Yes, 4too, Ellen Page in Juno. Don't taunt me for typos, I'm only human!

I dunno about boy's underwear or his supposed hipster appeal, but it's pretty clear this character has been modeled on her. Not going to be voiced by her, though.

And you have a good right to point it out.

On the contrary, I might never had Googled that picture above, appreciate media persona willing to drop the celebrity for comedy.

Thanks for the opportunity. :salute:

The even is based on what appears to be a mutated strain of Cordyceps unilateralis, a dangerous parasitic fungi. So no zombies just infected people it looks like. Trailer looked cool but I'm usually pretty willing to give all thing post-apocalyptic a chance to wow me.
