The new Fallout 2 secret is revealed :)

Bewitched

aka Vault_13
Do you ever read roaming words over npcs' heads? Sometimes they can give уou unique information :)! In this case we will talk about Klamath and local Trappertown. One guy there says something like "Some of the animals love corned beef so badly, they'd better eat it than you" (well, it's not exactly how it sounds in original but anyway).

So, let's go hunting! Do you remember where Whiskey Bobs' still is located? Do you remember geckos? It appears that if you throw meat (twin-brothers sell it) or Iguana-on-Stick to them (during the combat) they will actually eat it and skip their turn! This trick works with silver and golden geckos only (and meat should be near them).

PS. this is not my personal discovery - this secret was found by one of my board users, DEIVE.

I found this too after looking in the todo.txt file. Preview from the upcoming guide update: "In combat, all normal and golden geckos will run for and eat any Iguana-on-a-stick or Meat Jerky dropped on the ground, attacking if they have any AP left. They will also pick up punching weapons like Spiked Knuckles and Power Fists! And then use them against you!"

haha, because that's coded as unarmed?

It's mentioned in this news thread from back in 2005, including the trapper float.

I also think the line from todo.txt in my sig may be related to geckos at some point in development going for Beer and Booze - perhaps discovered when fighting near the still in Klamath.
