Todd Howard at NYCC

Todd Howard joined Ken Levine for a panel led by MTV Multiplayer staff at the New York Comic Con. Tidbits here, the most noteworthy bit being Bethesda is working on an iPhone game, quite possibly a Fallout one, though I can't shake the feeling we already knew that. It's not noteworthy otherwise, unless you want to see affirmed how self-centered Todd Howard can be:
Their favorite game from last year…

Levine: “King’s Bounty,” a Russian strategy game. Played a ton of it.

Howard: “Can I say Fallout 3?”
Note: King's Bounty: The Legend was indeed last year's best game. Well done Ken.

If Howard is working directly on the iPhone game, it must be either Fallout or TES-related.

Then it'd be Fallout.

Can't say I care.

Did you ever think after Fallout 2 (and Van Buren), that you'd find yourself every saying those words?

Does Todd just not game all that much anymore, or do his tastes truly run as such that, put on the spot, he could think of no single stand-out offering from last year's batch? Either way, bitter irony can't help but bring the words "By Gamers, For Gamers" springing to mind.

Maybe Toddy is not a gamer, just an entertainer?

Yes, they do.
Remember, Barbie Horse Adventure was his muse when it came to designing horses in Oblivion.

The guy doesn't even have daughters does he?
At least I play the "I have a daughter" card when I use her Webkinz. Shit, I have to keep my street cred up, you know.

So that's where those rigid character movements come from. Todd Howard's personal Barbie doll collection.

I just had the mental image of Todd sitting in a round surrounded by Barbie toys, combing their hair, dressing them up.

All while wearing his green bug man sunglasses.

I didn't think I'd be saying that even after Brotherhood of Steel.

Da Nile!
Fallout died with the departure of it's creators and the sacking of BIS, it's just been circling the drain since.

Seriously guys, I'm doing research.
Did I leave a Bitty Baby Bunny Bonnet around here somewhere?

He's even wearing The Incredibles' t-shirt...

Then Pete comes in wearing his white apron with flowers and hearts on it, and askes:

Pete: Toddy! Would you like some fudge cake and milk?

Todd: NO!! I'm plying with my dolls! PISS OFF!

Meh even jokingly that's far too arrogant. If he were serious...well..that explains so much.

To change the climate a bit: Still, I think he is a nice dude, just like Pete Hines but.... I don't think that the job decision was the right one.

Three suitable alternatives come to mind: a Wall Street trader, a manager at McDonald's, or the Kool-Aid Man.

My argument was: it doesn’t matter if people remember it, this is really really cool. So who cares? It’s cool, trust me, this world is really cool. And doing it this way, we just felt that this was the game that we wanted to make. And a lot of other people like press guys or other hardcore people who are involved in the telling of people: “this is cool, this is what you should be interested in”, a lot of them said “yeah, this is awesome.”

How many fingers am I holding up?!?! (1984 reference).

Suddenly my hopes for a non-FPS X-COM are a bit higher. Well, if that's what he's working on, anyway.
