Yes, you read it right, Tomb Raider...

And it's completely awesome! It's been a while since I've been so satisfied with the acquisition of a game.

The graphics are great, the gameplay is improved over Legend and is brilliant, the puzzles are interesting and the music is gorgeous, especially the Croft Manor theme which I've been trying to acquire in MP3 so I can listen to it outside of the game.

Also, it's pretty long and hard at places.

So, yeah, it's a great game, now stop looking at me funny and go and get it.

Whoa, really?

I've only played through the first Tomb Raider, and that was 1997. I enjoyed it when I was like thirteen.

Then, later, I tried to play Tomb Raider 2 and 3, but found them boring and forgot them.

I've played most of the Tomb Raider games, but I find only the first two and Legend good, the other four games were horrible.
It seems that changing the dev team was a good move then, eh?

I played the first one, but mostly I just fucked with the butler...

Just got it today. When I entered the first level, I got overwhelmed by a huge wave of nostalgia. Simply awesome. Crystal Dynamics did a great job on this one.

Later on the game can get really hard with a lot of trial and error.

Also, sometimes, you get overwhelmed by this feeling of isolation and being alone since there are no other humans anywhere (except in very rare places). It's freaky.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, pay attention to the music, it actually gets very Fallouty at places.

This is what made me love the first Tomb Raider. I was very dissapointed when I saw a friend of my playing TR2 and there was a shitload of people. Damn, maybe I should install good old Tomb Raider when I get home...

Since today's Sunday, I can go hop to my local EBGames and go pick it up. I was also thinking about it since I had never played any Tomb Raider games until Legend - and I was thoroughly impressed by that one, so how could a recreation of the past ones hurt? :D

I just saw the screenshots and i must say after i beat STALKER which will take sometime (please see beach thread) this is the next game on my list. Its been a while since i enjoyed an advanture game.

Picked it up yesterday night, have gotten through the first two supposedly levels so far, and I'm glad to say that I can recall certain memories of the old Tomb Raider in the new game, and the gameplay style is identical to Legend (which I enjoyed, believe it or not); so yeah - I'd recommend if anyone else wants to try/play it, go for it. It's a pretty fun game. :D

I tried the demo. I liked the graphics and the visual side of it. But for some odd reason the controls are just as bad - or worse ? - than the first one.

They still managed to maintan the stupid :wall: interface where you have to do totally illogical steps to get to your inventory og even draw your weapon.

no more tomb raider for me ... :(

Erm, you are aware that you can change the bindings, I hope. Besides, the default controls ain't that bad, especially when you compare them to previous games.

Also, what's so illogical with accessing your inventory using the Tab button?
