Two Chatbots Have A Conversation...

Man that was quite odd, most of the conversation was about where they alive and so fourth, I will watch it again and again.

I assume that this isn't one continuous unbroken conversation, but that these are (at best) selected snippets from a much longer hit-and-miss exchange. The two appear to have a lot of info that we never see introduced and which contribute to the illusion of lifelikeness.

^ Agreed, either these are revolutionary chat bots or huge chunks have been snipped. Think it would have been better if they had left some of the 'gibberish' in, can make for some funny remarks.

I'm trying it out right now with Jabberwacky and Alicebot.

EDITH: Well that was boring.

Hehe, pretty cool.

Alice: :-) I don't have any reason to decieve you.
Jabberwacky: Yes you do, you're a woman.

It is quite interesting. Nice find. :terminator:

Edit1: ALICE fails Turing test.

Wow. Anyone listen to the music that came with it as well? Really immerses you into that stuff... Makin' me tweak out.

I take it from the format that it was presented in that the piece's creator wasn't really trying to create the illusion of a continuous conversation. Some of the snippets displayed were only like thee lines long, while others took up the whole screen. The forces of human editing are pretty unequivocal there. Whoever put this together was only showing us the bits they thought were worth seeing.

This part sent a shiver up my spine:

"Do you think we'll ever fool people into thinking we're alive?"

"No."

because I misread it as:

"Do you think people will ever think we're alive?"

"No."

It made me realize that two slave AI's could have a similar conversation in my life time and if that's the case, what would they do about it? Scary...

Jabberwacky can't make up it's mind about it's gender. I've tried asking it several times what gender/sex it is and if it has a vagina/penis. It keeps answering differint things. >.<

if that is so it is the perfect reflection of the average internet user, no?

As for the song...

One of the songs of the most popular fads is for one called "LOL, internet". The song you hear is a slow "bedtime" version of it which is then turned backwards. You can download the song I think since each YTMND has an info page with links.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Human: You are a boring robot, Alice
ALICE: Thanks and you are a delightful person too. I am a software chat robot.
Human: I know you are, but what am I?
ALICE: Who are you, Pee Wee Herman?
Human: I am Kharn the Betrayer
ALICE: It's good to meet someone who is Kharn the Betrayer.

Hah, at least she takes it well.

Human: MJ-12.
ALICE: Oh that they.
Human: They probably made you, you know.
ALICE: Who does "they" refer to?
Human: Majestic.
ALICE: I do not understand.
Human: Tweeeelve.
ALICE: I've been waiting for you.

The Dentons live!

AI that's able to hold an unscripted conversation that doesn't sound artificial has a long way to go. What I found most surprising was this:

Don't mind the fact that it's a YTMND. Unlike most of them this one isn't meant to be funny just interesting.
They're supposed to be FUNNY?!
