Unable to "use" Ladders/Chests

Like the topic title says, FOT is not letting me click on Ladders or Click to open Chests. I can use shelves and open doors, but for some reason the cursor won't change when I put it over a Ladder/Chest. It just stays with the same yellowish circle used for moving characters around. I was able to open a chest in the beginning of the mission, but now it won't let me open any of them. Any help?


EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have tried quitting the game and loading it back up and it still doesn't work. And I've reverted to an old save and nothing...
 
EDIT: Great Bend is the name of the mission. And I dont think its patched. Im using whatever version came in the discs, and I bought it along time ago so Im assuming its an old version.

And yes Im sure these chests aren't dummies. I know because I've been through the editor to edit the missions to give me some extra items >___> They are entities and I stuffed them with stimpacks and ammo.

Hmmmm could that be the problem? Is it because I edited some items into the chests? That doesn't explain the ladders though...

EDIT#2: I noticed in the Missions section that some of the missions weren't clickable. If nobody has done them I would LOVE to go ahead and submit them for you. And I'd like to do the same for the Demo Map 2 Walkthrough. May I?
 
If you've used the level editor then you must of patched the game at some point, since the editor comes with the patch not the default game. :roll:

If you've edited the map then you could of corrupted something. Try replacing the map with the original from the bos files.

It would of helped if you'd mentioned modding the game from the start, and posting in the right forum.
 
Well maybe my FOT game was already patched to the most recent or something because I know for a fact I have never downloaded a patch for this game AND it had the editor in it already.

Thing is, all I did was click on a chest and added some stimpacks and ammo. That was it. I have been doing this for every mission since the beginning. I'll find a chest in a mission and just add in some extra goodies so I can survive. And every other mission has gone just fine. Why is it starting now?

And yes I will try replacing the old files in. I have a folder with the originals.

EDIT: Apparently my discs(stock, no patches) are at V 1.27, which includes the Editor as far as I can tell.

But yea, I just switched out the edited files with the originals it it STILL doesn't work. The chests and ladders are still broken. Help please. :(




But yea....can I submit those walkthroughs/maps for the missing missions in the FOT section?
 
Still it would of helped to say from the start, v1.27 and that you'd been editing things.

Did you play the map before you started cheating? If not then the vanilla map might of been corrupted from the get go. If you did and it worked then but not now you'll need to reload an earlier save from before the mission started. Try that because once you visit a map it becomes part of your saved game and changes won't show up unless you go back to an earlier save or start a new game.

Stuff for the website is down to the admins. I'm sure one will read this eventually. :wink:
 
EDIT: No, still doesn't work with the vanilla map. I even reloaded to a save file I had that is 2 missions back and everything works in there. So apparently what I have is a corrupted mission file.

Is it possible for me to just switch out the mission files? Can someone send me their Great Bend mission file so I can replace mine with that one? Will the great T-Bolt be so kind as to maybe give me his mission file? :o

But yes, I will begin work on the remaining map walkthroughs for those empty missions. I just have to download the FOT demo again so I can do the Mission 2 section. What do I do after Im finished with them? Flag down a Admin and PM it to them or something?
