USA elections

Lived Through the Heat Death
yep, it´s that time of the year, so while we wait the results/party after the results/curse like Rosh on a FOBOS stand because of the results why not start a topic about it? I`m specially curious to see the posts from the american crew, but all are invited.

Please people, if you haven't voted yet, vote for Kerry. If not for you or your children, at least do it for the continued existence of Humanity, m'kay?

please people if you haven't voted yet vote for bush, that way the U.S.A will not be known as a U.N. pussy, as under a liberal bend over take it up the ass kerry would shurley have us known as.
if you like driving your SUV vote for bush. (we can all still have a sense of humor right) if you enjoy your rights to free speech, the right to verbally abuse, the right to hold your pathetic paper sign vote for bush.

did you know that the US communist party supports kerry?
kerry is anti-American, he hates himself, he loves the one world order known as the U.N. he is bad for the US.

Why, you sir seem like a rather typical Bush supporter.

I'm not sure if you will really have those soon. PATRIOT Act II - Back with a vengence. Wopuld anybody be remotely surprised if he tried to remove the two term limit?

I'm predicting that Bush will come out a few points ahead (by fair means or foul), but I hope that I'm wrong. Or maybe it'll be another Supreme court elected president. :(

It's interesting to note that the UN has election observers stationed throughout the States.

I just voted Kerry.

My ex-girlfriend was there filtering people by last name. I actually had to speak to her. My day is ruined.

I'm going to go cry now.

I could've gotten applied for an absentee vote form, but declined to do so.

The way I see it, I'm not even going to be in the US on a constant basis for at least the next three years. Whomever gets elected is probably going to be out of office or almost there by the time I graduate, if I decide to go back to the states.

The winner of the election has no influence on my except for possibly international relations.

...

Damn, I should've voted.

Hahahaha

You just made my day. I'm going to go help myself to the People's Beer of the Revolution and congratulate myself on a vote well done.

Ozrat- you should go home and vote. Shame on you.

And yes, Bob does seem like the typical Bush voter.

My voting station was my school's basketball arena. There were two tables outside. One democrat and the other republican. The democrat had three people a 30-something guy, a 40-something woman and a 60-something woman. They seemed pleasant and well-infomed. Next to them was a table with three girls between the ages of 18 and 21, who seemed to lack both experience or intelligence- they campaign for Bush.

If you're intelligent, responsible - vote Kerry.
If you're a stupid dumb ass who is easily lied to and willing to be manipulated - vote Bush.

Actually one of my students voted Bush because her folks make over 200K a year. I can be sympathetic.

I vote Kerry because I actually like Kerry and think Bush is an idiot. Reasons for that are well discussed over the past four years at NMA.

Well I went to vote today. Stood in line a whole hour with people making small talk about current events and tip-toeing around issues without talking about who their voting for or what they support. Thats actually good 'cause otherwise their might have been brawling. Sadly, of the 100 people I was in line with about 2/3's of them were over the age of 50 and the other 1/3 were between 30 and 50...with one exception...I was the only person below the age of 30 to vote there...hopefully thats only, because everyone is busy with school or work and is gonna vote later.

I voted John Kerry for Supreme Ruler of the Planet Earth...er...President. Then I voted third party for all the other positions there were including the state and local stuff.

Then I got to eat a roast beef sandwich with neat gravy and a Coke! I love the American political process! Perhaps I just glad to get all this voting over with so I can remove the burden of making a judgement of who to vote for then having to represent and defened myself in front of others with different views. That and getting drafted to Iraq...

Very Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Probably the age group Vault Dweller had to do with the time you were voting. A lot of the students here are voting with absentee ballots because their home residence is elsewhere.

So far no clear favorites- least that was last that I checked.

Sundays polls went for Kerry over Bush, but the more recent electoral polls make it out to a dead even raise and there's even a possibility that neither will get enough electoral votes.

But that's unlikely. Chances are the polls are wrong by some small percent that will make all the difference.

I'm just wondering if Osama will blow up something today just to get his message out.

IF I were betting on this election- I'd give it to Bush, though I think he a dumb fuck monkey of a man. The reason would be all the evengelicals and the great numbers of dumbasses that the US is cursed with (for example see third poster).

Howard Stern played a montage of a bunch of stupid things Bush has said over the years this morning. I have to say, I have never heard a worse or more idiotic sounding public speaker in my whole life. How can anyone vote for a person who has such a feeble grasp of the english language and can't even read lines from a script correctly? Jesus, any member of the whack pack from Stern's show can speak better than him and they're all mentally handicapped. Even if I didn't like Kerry as a candidate, I would have voted for him just because he's not an embarrasment.

The voting line here at Penn State went out the front door of the union and down the sidewalk. I'm told this is an unprecendented turnout, and from what I could tell about 2 out of 3 were voting for Kerry. Too bad our county (with a liberal school in the middle of Carville's "Arkansas") always goes democratic. If they all voted in their home precincts (especially the suburbs) their votes would have made a larger difference. But then again, last presidential election only about 10% of students voted, so who am I to complain?

I for one absentee voted Kerry in my suburban WASP county in Minnesota. My little 'stick it to the man' vote should make more of a difference there.

I'm planning on playing EU2 all night and watching the returns. Anyone else?

I can picture myself at home tonight listening to the radio and hearing "The results are in and Bush was elected." to which I say "OMFG" or "Jesus Buttfucking Christ, not again. Idiots!"

I voted for Kerry. Well, no, I didn't, since I'm not an American citizen 'n all, but I would vote for him. If you have to choose between two evils, choose the lesser one.

God, I hope you are kidding. Because if your statements reflect the intellect and mentality of an average Republican Party supporter, then it's no wonder your country is going to hell.

This link is helpfull in following the results

I`ll have to follow this for a number of reasons, so it`s BBC, CNN, MSNBC , Sky News/Fox, Bloomberg, Euronews, french TV5 and many other tv stations night for me... rats... and the internet of course, too many places to post here... rats... i wanted a movie and some popcorns instead...

so... it's 1 in the night here and i'm going to bed...
when i got up in a few hours i hope that the new emperor of the western world is a good and honest person... [i.e.: NOT BUSH!]

Amen, brothers

Good night!

Went to the gym early in the morning, before many people got there. Only had to wait about 10 minutes before I voted.

For the presidency I voted Michael Badnarik, as I couldn't feel clean after voting for Bush or Kerry. As for our Senatorial candidates, I decided not to vote. Anybody who's been in Oklahoma recently and seen the advertising campaigns would know that it's been pure mud slinging on either side. I don't support dirty politics.

I got lost trying to find my polling place. Seriously. I don't pay attention to the names of streets right around where I live, and when I figured out where I needed to go, I thought it was on the south side of town, on a street that was having construction done (and has been having construction for the last 5 months, and will continue for another 5 months...), so I had to take a detour. After ending up turned around in a part of the city that I don't know very well, I called Dove only to learn that the building I was looking for is a mere 6 blocks north of where I live. By that time I was three miles south of my residence.

After all that, I voted for Kerry, and I wear my sticker proudly.
