Dude101 brought into our attention a Van Buren Revival Project, an effort to re-create the storyline and quests of the original Van Buren game (according to the design docs) in the Fallout 2 engine.

The blog had been ran by Christopher Chadwick for over two months now, and he has been doing some progreass working on Tibbets Facility maps.

Let's hope the extracted tech-demo texts will be helpful.

I kind of forgot to tell the other newsies that we agreed not to post it as news until you had more to show ;)

No harm no foul, maybe you'll get some volunteers to help you out now.

NP brother, I have been working on it but work and other issues had slowed work but when I have had a chance to work on it I have :).

Oh the tech demo was a real help to me so was all the other thing's that have been leeked, I just hope there is more to come. if any of the dev's that worked on it have any more suff lying around leek it please.

Nice art! One thing though, isn't "Wellcome" spelled "Welcome"?

No actually I really love it. Keep that concept art coming !! Actually I like that picture a lot more than the concept art for Fallout 3 released so far...

I was about to say the same thing. If Bethesda had put something like that up instead of their "wait.. is this Fallout, Mad Max or Logan's Run?" art, fans would be happier.

thanks guys but i cannot compare with Mullins here...

Anyway, don't forget that this thread is about the Van Buren revival project, not about my pic ;)

Please support Muff in his quest :)

That project is some really good stuff.
And that concept art is sweet either. I see, here are many people who are creative and have the knowledge to do really cool things.

What kind of people are needed to pull this project? Id really like to see something like that finished.

Nice pic, Dominus. Calls to mind the Fallout load screen with the shirtless running dude shooting over his shoulder. The brush stroke style reminds me of the loading screens, too.

Muff, thanks for starting the project, and great luck with it. Alas, I have no useful technical skills. I can proofread dialog and such for an English version, but that's about it.

@FeelTheRads

Full Ack ... nothing more to say.

@Muff

Nice idea - I wish you luck and - more important - enough motivation to finish this project.

Are there already any considerations about porting it to FIFE?

Sorry, I had to ask.... :-D

No, seriously - I guess it will take quite some time until you´re finished - why not working with a more modern engine? :)

Hmm, some kind of Van Buren revival? I have expected that. Let´s strike while the iron is hot.

But two announced mods in one day? It is very alarming, at least in my view.

How many big mods has been completed by now? Very few. How many has been buried? Much much more. :?

I wish I was wrong, but I feel that scattering creative and useful people to so many projects is very bad.

Dominus: Jericho art is just awesome. Do you heard about this? :D
