Vanished into thin air!

    * Witty descriptions of items and creatures
    * Sense of scale
    * Dark ambient soundtrack
    * Interactions between towns

    * Childkilling
    * Fun
    * Good writing
    * RPG
    * Interesting NPCs
    * Rewarding cinematics
    * Endgame slideshows
    * Settlements that make sense

    * Traders that actually are usefull
    * Logic and INTERNAL cohesion
    * Seperate Traits, and their negative effects.
    * Skill and Stat check wonderland.

Feel free to contribute to the lists.

Let's not forget rewarding cinematics. Fallout's videos were always little masterpieces that would leave you looking like this --> :shock:

Fallout 3 cinematics (if you can call them such) look like a poorly assembled PowerPoint presentation.

I'll update the list with your contributions.

*Settlements that make sense.

*Tribals.

*Farming.

*Weapons worth a damn.

*Decent graphics. (Don't tell me FO3's graphics are good, soup textures have been inexcusable since Doom 3)

Wattz Electronics: They made so many wonderful products that can be found in Fallout 1/2, but I don't recall any Wattz products (with the possible exception of holodisks), or even a mention of the company, in Fallout 3.

Poseidon Energy: Another major company absent from Fallout 3.

These five as well...

* Dark ambient soundtrack
* Interactions between towns
* Shovels
* Gravedigging
* Childkilling

possible additions:
*Brothels, ball gags after you lose arm wrestling, and novelty porn mags.
*Traders that actually are usefull
*Logic and INTERNAL cohesion
*Seperate Traits, and their negative effects.
*Skill and Stat check wonderland.

Outdoorsman? Interesting combat? Fun death animations? Witty descriptions of items and creatures? Fallout?

Duh, no we can't have "Fallout" on the list since they've included it in game's title.No one can deny that they're cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University :mrgreen:

Aw goddamnit.

I separated the list into two... The first one is a list of things Vault Dweller would notice missing if he traveled to East Coast. - Whoa, where's my special Cat's Paw Issue No.5!?

The second one is a list of things we fans miss dearly.

As for Outdoorsman, that's the last thing one thought they would remove. No one at Bethesda suggested it could have an effect on those encounters?

"University", picky about them Blackadder quotes getting quoted properly :P

Well outdoorsman sort of lives on in Perception as that allows you to spot enemies on your compass... which dosen't make a whole lot of sense now I come to think of it (must be magic).

Couple I miss:
* Doctor
* First aid
Crippled bones took a doctor's kit and ages to fix in Fallout while in F3 it takes about a second using a stimpak.
Though this might come under the general heading off verisimilitude.

Lol, right about that Universe thingy. Oxford Universe... doesn't sound bad though.

Let me add that it's extremnely stupid to heal a broken bone or blindness by "sleeping in bed" like in FO3.

Poseidon is the most glaringly absent for me, given its ties to the Enclave and pre-War government. They could have at least put its logo on all the power stations.

Weird how they made the extra effort to make it extra fallouty by adding RobCo and the other companies but completely forgot Poseidon.
Could be a good way to explain why the computers all over the wasteland still have power as the Enclave are in the area and could be activating the nuclear powerplants to run their own base.
... Shame there are only powerstations and no powerplants in the game though.

Poseidon also owned gas stations, but Fallout 3 has its own set of those too (The rocket-decorated ones). Maybe Poseidon Energy is just West Coast? A power plant would've been good though, albeit there is a chain of them in-game...

*First Aid Kit
*Killer Plants
*Tribes. One is mentioned, but to find one in a ruined city area does not make much sense come to think of it... would just be another scavenger town.
