Wasteland 2 new screenshot surfaces

I did not give them my money so they could use it to put superfluous letters "S" in screenshots, damn it! Such waste of resources!

;)

I see a person standing on a shipping container and pointing a gun, I wonder if this means you can climb things during combat to gain an advantage.

They confirmed you can do that during the Ask A Dev week. Here

Q: Will there be elevations on land like hills and trenches as well as 2nd, 3rd stories on buildings? Will being elevated give a sight/combat advantage?

A: you bet your sweet bippy there will be, on both accounts.

were making good use of upper floors of buildings, and the Unity terrain editor is in use to create some dynamic landscapes that allow for combat/position advantages.

Lookin good. The architecture looks a little Eastern Bloc, but thats probably just because it's a warehouse or some sort of industrial complex.

Only thing I think would improve the environment that is missing is some vinery/ivy growing up the walls. The encroaching grasses into the courtyard is a nice touch.

Mad props to them for managing to release a screenshot that is even more boring than the one with the Scorpion.

Looks pretty good, Altho it seems they went with the murkier pallette after all... Oh well.

My first reaction : it is way better than the first screenshot, looks very good.
But now i find it lacks style (like mobucks said look Eastern Bloc and generic) and is indeed a bit boring.
The first screenshot was maybe not as good (especially bad characters and the out of scale ladder) but it was stylish/atmospheric.
Well if the final result is the winning mix of these two screenshot it will be perfect graphic wise, at least for me.
Edit : i hope the camera will not be a problem, i dislike rotative/moving camera a lot.

looks pretty good to me. Also it is just a wip screenshot anyway.

I'm really trying hard to hate this picture like some other pals, but I can't find anything of poor quality. And this does not look like a Soviet-stylized building, by the way.

The area kinda reminds me of one of the earlier mission areas in STALKER :o

Yep, I had the same though too. It looks a lot like the factory in the Dark Valley (above Lab X-18).

I was prepared for something worse, guys. Not bad at all! Well, except I'm worried now about my old machine's hardware specifications a little. :)

Yeah, it just looks like a generic warehouse-style building to me, the kind of which you see dozens and dozens of time in genre TV/videogames.

The juxtaposition with the overgrown vegetation is probably what brings Stalker images to mind, although STALKER had more distinctive vegetations and managed to blend the two more effectively than inXile managed here.

Still, it's not a bad screenshot, especially when considering the budget, and I was never expecting to be wowed by inXile in the art department. So far, so good.

much better than previous screenshot

suddenly the density of architecture critics on this forum is sickeningly high

Screenshot looks good to me. :)

While I'm not sure how they got their hands on it (and why they haven't flaunted their exclusive everywhere)

I don't think they think it's much of an exclusive to flaunt as it doesn't have the words 'Call' or 'Duty' in it. lol

For a work in progress, it's pretty damn nice. I agree that there needs to be more plants creeping over the walls as nature doesn't give a shit what it covers. The fact there is characters on different levels makes it sweeter.
