Tell us about your water and your strongly held opinions on water and why California should not waste so much of it.
 
Eh, the cali supply should be seperated into farm or domestic lines, the farmers produce food.

Water is great. I'm currently at the San Pellegrino Terme Spa because it's my birthday and my gf is awesome. Water good.
 
There were around 40 people on the coaching course Mauricio Pellegrino took when he was a player at Valencia in 1999 and he wanted to know what it was that moved them to be there, so he did something he has done ever since football took him from his home in the Argentinian pampas: he asked and he listened. There were all sorts of reasons but surprisingly few matched his. For some, it was just something to do. For others, it was about water, or the lack of it.

Yeah, that one. They had a little museum of sorts with all sorts of historic ads just like that one on display, too.
Nice spa, btw. Quite a few differently themed/scented saunas and steam rooms and nice massaging pools. Also, good lunch and aperitivo. Lacked a proper saltwater bath, though, and since it's not really a volcanic hot spring there was little in terms of classic ultra-mineralic spring water, but very pleasant nonetheless.
I heard on german news that the local governments at lago di garda told people not to jump into the lake at certain spots because the water was so low due to the ongoing drought, but neither garda nor iseo seemed particularly low. Still dry here, in this week it rained once a bit in Venice, once here in Brescia, and earlier near Bergamo I also saw a thunderstorm on the horizon. Way not enough. I guess in middle Italy like Tuscany it's worse, I heard olive farmers are looking at potentially losing a significant portion of their trees. Not the harvest, the actual trees.
 
I didn't even bother with a garden this year because I knew no matter how much water I used it would suck. Judging by the gardens around town I made the big brain choice.
 
Hey, a dry desert can have it's charm too. And if someone complains about your garden, just tell them it's artistic to reflect your inner soul and they are cultural swine.
 
It's like this: there are so many grasshoppers eating all the dry dead grass that they tend to just hop all over your garden and make you spend more than it is worth keeping the plants alive. If it gets too dry you will get spider mites, too wet this or that, of course there are remedies, but they often do not work, or you spend hours picking off bugs when you can just spend 10 bucks at the store and save a shitload of money.

That is here anyway. Oklahoma is the worst state for comfort.
 
Australian drinking water sucks. The only water I could find here that I can drink without feeling sick is Evian water (even though this one still has a noticeable weird taste), Luso water, which is Portuguese water that is very hard to find around here (only one tiny family store that imports some Portuguese products has it) and amazingly a weird bottled water from Serbia that I can't remember the name of and I only found it twice in a small shop.

I have tried all the bottled water I can find around here, and those are the only waters that don't suck that much.

At first, I thought I was the weird one, but even my wife and her sister can't drink any bottled water here either, only sparkling water (which I don't like). And they are both 100% Australians.

' Corpy juice'(water) in Liverpool is absolutely lovely

Lake Vyrnwy in Welsh Wales supplies most of our water. We do not have to descale kettles every 5 minutes as the water we receive is soft and not full of lime.
London water tastes dull and smells of farts.

Probably a mild price hike, the more northern areas here in Italy in the Franciacorta seem to be doing somewhat fine. Let's hope there'll be some more rain soon. All that evaporating water has to go somewhere after all.
 
Olive oil hahaha. who gives a fuck. Palm oil replaces the rain forests at an alarming rate. All that " My nonna hasa the besta olive oil in alla da Italia " Is bourgeoise as is Western ' Haute couture '

As far as I know the question is not only about rain but how much dry ground can hold it. Like the last heat wave from 2019 or something? It left some areas dry for years. Despite the rain. Simply because the ground dried up to quite some debth. There are ideas going around that farmers should start to change their soil in ways where it can easier hold the rain water and for a longer period with a different kind of underground. No clue about the details.

Yeah, extended droughts are an issue because of that. It would need a long period of lots of rain to get it back to normal levels.
