Who would win?

Between Big Boss and Captain America who would come out on top?
Both have their normal armament.
Neither has any prep time.
Location is in New York City. Lets say Central Park.
Comicbook nerds have this extra qualifier. Both are in BLOODLUST MODE which means they really want to kill the fuck out of the other guy for whatever reason.

I'd say Captain America. He's the absolute pinnacle of what a human can achieve and an extremely skilled combatant. Big Boss is close to the top, but in the end he's a normal human.
 
True to a certain extent. Big Boss's DNA is so unique that he was responsible for three other super soldiers being born so there is definitely something there.

He is a tough motherfucker when it comes down to it though. Taking 10 million volts until he said his lungs taste like charcoal. He had his arm fractured and ribs broken and was thrown off a bridge only to survive and treat the wounds himself. Something I have never seen Cap do. It should be noted that Cap is listed as peak human not super human. The one in the Ultimate Universe they just said fuck it he is superhuman. He lifts more over in that continuity.

Big Boss was taught CQC by the person that invented it, so he is no joke in that department either. It really would come down to disabling Cap's shield in some way, but that just sounds like any MGS boss fight. It's a pretty tough call for me. I'm running the fight in my brain tv right now....

My Big Boss was getting his ass kicked by that shield, but Cap lost it for a bit. They were neck and neck in that regard (hand to hand) both sustaining a good amount of damage. Both fatigued they scramble for their weapons. Big Boss fires several tranq rounds, some hitting Cap knocking him out and the rest his shield. One of the tranq darts bounces off the shield and knocks Boss out.

It's a draw.

HAHA. My brain came up with that while watching it play out.
 
I would say Big Boss purely for the reason that the entire Metal Gear saga pits Snake (in whatever iteration) against super-human combatants, and he always comes out on top. If Solid Snake can beat Grey Fox in his exoskeleton suit, hand-to-hand, I think Naked Snake could beat Cap into submission. That's assuming it's Cap + Shield vs Big Boss + inventory.

If it were two men, half naked on top of a destroyed Metal Gear with nothing but their ideological drive and latent homo-eroticism driving them, Cap probably wins through raw strength, though only just. I imagine our friend Big Boss is a much better fighter in terms of technique, however.

Thinking about it though, post-1974 Big Boss would actually make for a great Cap villain. It's got the absurd millitary fantasy, he's basically Captain America gone African Warlord himself and the Metal Gear emerging would be a helluva panel to end a cliffhanger comic on.
 
Big Boss would have just his knife and pistol and a pack of cigs. If he had his full gear from MGS3 he would probably win.

Big Boss wouldn't want to kill Cap. It'd remind him too much of doming the Boss. He'd try to recruit him to Outer Heaven, fulton his unconcious body and then Cap would refuse to join when he got there, and then Kaz would probably angrily shout and waterboard him or alternatively try to fuck Sharon Carter depending on if it's Peace Walker Kaz or V Kaz.
 
In this scenario he does though but I know what you mean. Cap would never turn against the US though. Even when he went Nomad he eventually donned the shield again.

People try to write that off as a joke. It's in the hammiest game in the series so there is that. You can also go on a date with Kaz so people tend to forget a lot of that game simply regarding it as fan service. It should be said Cap could probably do the same thing if it came down to it.

I'd say Captain America, dude has been frozen, shot, turned into a Nazi and a werewolf and still lived to tell the tale.

Big Boss was killed via a hug from his son.
 
Big Boss would try and CQC him then Cap'n would crush him with his super soldier arms and hack his head off with his shield. Then Big Boss would eat a snake for some health then let out a "heh, you're pretty good" then fulton extract Captain to join him at Outer Heaven.
