Why you don't need a katana

European swords were pretty underrated because of the pop-culture depiction of katana as a super sword.

Zweihander video is sweet too :) .
Damn, it makes me want to actually earn some money :D .
 
Katanas take the "awesome" badge, tho. A guy you'll stab in the stomach with a Katana will most probably high five you and say "Whoa man, that's fucking rad", while a guy you stab in the stomach with a broadsword will puke his guts out and die.

there's a vid about a guy with a dull bastardsword cutting effortlessly through bamboo stuff.

all those people showing off about how sharp their stuff is by cutting bamboo/meat/ropes are just posers.
 
Unfair test - everybody knows using Viking swords is cheating.
I mean, they're blessed by the Norse gods man. Nobody messes with them.

Why you don't need a katana:

Swords are cool to look at, though.
 
Why don't they have a Katana video? Also, why don't they cut through metal armors? That would be cool to see. Can it stab through a breast plate?

But really, if you swing a very small wedge (blade) with alot of force, pretty much anything can cut anything can cut bamboo and meat.

But it's cool to watch those large ass swords cut shit down.

didn't you know? katanas create a vacuum when drawn out of their scabbards so powerful that it could cut through tanks...

I dunno if it is true, but I heard the Germans used to sharpen their shovels when fighting on the eastern front, in case of close combat.
