This young person dares to argue against Blizzard.

Although, he seems to be getting made fun of alot on the YouTube comments...

Good for this guy, not every one has to like Blizzard in every way and it is pretty funny how they froze to this question.

so what this guy is saying is that its not only beth who fucks up their own lore but blizz does it too?

shocking

shocking i tell you!

It's because he's so oppie.

I'm not really a blizzard guy, I did my time in WoW though, and it does have an intricate lore, so this is'nt really suprising to me nor is the devs reaction.

Poor guy....I feel sorry for every attacking him.... :(

You do? That's the internet.

And how come everyone in the US has Assburger's (or OCD or ADHD I guess)?

Woah... this guy plays on my old server.

And yeah, the Warcraft lore is so deep at this point, it's not really surprising there are inconsistencies. This dude was super awkward about it though... like Napolean Dynamite/Comic book guy awkward.

It is my belief that there are many, or a significant number of, misdiagnoses in the medical field. Perhaps, it has to do with the drug industry. It's like that child's teacher will notice that they can't sit still during their boring class, or the child kind of keeps to himself, that there must be something wrong with them, and the parents take them to some doctor who's advice is "take these pills for a week and see how it goes." But it's still boring, and not everyone want to be the center of attention. Maybe it has something to do with the current state of society, the pace of it, too fast, how we are more connected than ever, and yet, still very much disconnected. Maybe I'm just rambling.

And I just saw this video of this young man on some clip show on television. Stuff really gets around these days. At first I thought he was an actor. Maybe he is just an actor. It's just too cliché.

Ive heard worse WoW players on ventrillo. They have the social skills of a doormat. Cool guys, but still.

That was a great SNL skit. Capt Kirk really had some balls there.

That's because it's a really nice excuse to be an antisocial, awkward dick.

I thought he was kind of cool. He did dare to stand up in front of everybody and speak to the blizzard guys questioning them about something they created and should know really well, and nailing it. Pretty damn awesome. The guy deserves a cola named after him (just not red shirt cola)

I love this comment
Not a Nerd, but a legend and is forever going to be Falstad's Fact Checker for the history of WoW. To even ask this question took courage, and to defend it when questioned is even more of a feat. You hate him, only because you want to be him.

Reminds me of that scene in Simpsons when the nerd challenges Lucy Lawless about some aspect of Xena that didn't make sense, and gets told "It's magic."

What a geek.

Holy crap, people have actually made it far enough into that video to see what inconsistency in the Diablo lore he was actually talking about? It's just so unbelievably awkward that I can't take more than 10 seconds of it. I'm no social dynamo, but there's not being sociable and then there's that.

And people are hailing him as a hero for this? Even he had been capable of a non-awkward delivery, who honestly gives a crap about some incredibly obscure inconsistency in the lore that derives from the books of all places (at least I think it does from what I've gathered... like I said, couldn't sit through the entire video). Yeah, cool, like all franchises that expand far beyond the boundaries of what the original designers and writers ever intended, inconsistencies have developed for various reasons. There's nothing surprising about the devs at that panel having no clue what he was talking about -- I highly doubt any of them have read the Diablo books or have spent a whole lot of time delving into every obscure factoid of the Diablo lore. Pretty sure they're all a little busy, y'know, making the game. I actually don't even like Jay Wilson very much, but this is a pretty lame thing to go "gotcha!" on.

Was Leonard Boyarsky at that panel? He's the only developer I'd think might be able to respond to that. But still, I couldn't even fault ol' Leo for not having a response. That SNL skit with William Shatner at the Star Trek convention is really quite apt.
