Zombie RP

I am thinking of starting up a new RP that's a bit different.

For one, I am thinking this as more of a collection of short fiction built around a common world and perhaps sharing similar characters.

The world would not be fallout, but more a Romero's Night of the Living Dead.

Characters would be less "super hero" than "regular joe". YOu guys would write about people who are more or less you trying to get by in a zombie infested world.

Realism would be key here.

I have an idea for the first installment, but won't start it until next month.

Anyone interested?

ZOMBIES! Oh my god! I'm in! I like exclamation marks!

But seriously, count me it.

I like your style of rp welsh in general. Im willing to give it a go. Ill even work at S-Mart if you want, heh.

like I said, I am thinking more Night of the Living Dead than Evil Dead.

it's something to consider. This will be different than most rps in that it's more a collection of fan fictions around zombie themes.

I might consider it, but Im leavng for basic at the end of January.....

Still, sounds really fun Welsh.

Hmm, I wonder why Zombies have never been added in Fallout. They are so '50's. Cool. I'm in....

I already got enough nightmares about those things already.

They havent been added because Fanout hasnt been compleated yet................. (or at least a particular encounter)

Welsh, what do you mean by a colection of fanfictions ?

Do the characthers not interact, but simply all are lone survivors in the same world ?

Nah, well. some would be lone, and some well.. strength in numbers philosphy comes to mind. I myself, would most likely be with someone or a group. I could make it on my own, but hey, who wants to be alone in a world of dead things?

This sounds great. Especially considering the ongoing discussion of zombie movies in GD.

I'd really like to join this RP, if you'll let me. I gotta say, though, that I haven't really tried this before, so I hope you'll cut me a bit of slack.

When excactly do you plan to start it?

THe problem with most RPs is that you get into this "I post, you post" mentality where you are waiting for the next guy to post.

But the next guy is in the middle of exams, or on holiday, or his computer is burnt, or he's doing something else.

This should be different. You post a story. Characters can be used (provided you are kind to the character "owners") or perhaps we will use a stock of regular "group owned" characters.

The Rps should be stories about those characters- but they should all be fairly self-contained stories or at least full episodes.

SO none of this below-
------
Bob had a smoke, said then said "blah blah blah"

Struck a cool pose and waited for another character to do something meaningful.
________

Think of this more as a group activity for those of you who like zombie flicks as a means to tell meaningful stories.

Actually I like the idea of group characters- they become more disposable that way.

prehaps have only the GM have a PC, with the rest of the cast as party NPCs that everyone controls ?

That might invite too much chaos. One of the nice things about having characters is that players take a person interest in a story.

I am a little concerned with this. It might be a bit too much chaos.

Must think about it some more.

i'm out.

i don't have the time or interest to post entire f**king chapters at a time.

I am quite interested, but... I am studding for finals this month. Give me a month and I can dedicate about two full months of full commitment and attention. Maybe I can join later?

BTW: Have you been watching"The Dawn of the Living Dead" lately? You know, that director's version or something. I bet you bought the DVD!

Heh. Can't say I've got the time, nor patience for that. Couldn't we just make a word limit and a set of rules?

Yes, I agree. This will be something of a time commitment for those interested.

The idea is a dedicated bit of fan fiction on a popular post-apoc genre using shared characters, history and places.

The old Thieves' World collection of short stories kind of comes to mind in all of this. Those stories involved the history of a town full of thieves and rogues using fantasy themes. Characters come and go, some die and some live.

Again, this is about meaningful interesting stories with believable characters in fairly unusual circumstances. It will demand effort but it might be quite good, depending on the quality of the writing. Again, think of this more as an exercise in style and plot.

I plan to put the story together over the next month or so.
