Hello Folks !
Just want to present Arroyo 13, a mod project I am working at the moment.
Arroyo 13 will begin 10 years after the end of Fallout 2, and will focuse on the BoS / NCR conflict, the map will cover the area of fallout 1 and 2, and you will be able to go to area like Vault city, the Hub, the glow.
But the world of Fallout will be a little different from what you have played in fallout 2, to make it quick, in my Story of the Vault Dweller, Rhombus died (never was a stealth character), and Gizmo took over Junktown and made it prosper.
The Brotherhood became more religious than before, and is led by a Chapter of the 5 head of Houses and by the Bishop of the Cult of Steel. Each House has different values, but are still very disciplined, and most of them are believer of The Cult of Steel.
Concerning Fallout 2, I intend to remove everything that I didn’t like. (Personal opinion, you can think otherwise). So, in my Story of the Chosen One: New Reno never existed; it was nuked during the war, or whatever. Talking Death claw never existed either. San Francisco is just a small fishing area. The vault experiment: that never existed too! (sorry Tim)
This story of spending some much resource, to make these vaults, then to destroy the world, that just for an experiment to go to mars??? I mean, that’s too much. For me, the Enclave was degenerated due to lead poisoning and it’s dirigeant were delusional. Besides, the vault experiment destroys completely the feeling I had at the end of Fallout 1. When the overseer exile you, it is as a leader that want to protect his people, because you could destroy the balance of the vault, and I think he was right to do so (I blew his head, but I still think he is a hero). I mean, look at the descendant of those who got out! A bunch of tribal! Would you really that for your children?
So the Enclave had just some location of some vaults, and took Vault 13 because it was the nearest non-opened vault there was. The kidnapping of Arroyo was just random.
Right now what is done.
I have done or modified some of the map from Fallout 1 and 2.
Arroyo 13 : 6 modified maps + 1 new.
Tribal villages: 4 maps still to do
Klamath no changes to the fallout 2 maps.
The Den no change +1 map
VaultCity : no big changes
Vault city colonies: 1 colonie of Vault city done. 3 more to go
Modoc: made a wall around. Yes VC took over. The doctor is mayor, Stark is head of security.
BOS: 8 new/modified maps (bunkers, military bases, Maxson city), Lost hill stay the same (will maybe get a level more)
NCR City: no changes for now. Will surely get a military headquarter south of the council.
NCR: 2 villages based on Shady Sand. Still some work to do, and have to make some military base, bunker.
Uberman Outpost : 1 new map. Maybe 3 more to do. Not sure.
SF: nothing for now. Maybe one map with fishers living in ruins.
The Hub: 3 modified maps. 2 more to modify (entrance and the west one). Maybe 2 more to do, or just make the existing one bigger. The new Cathedral of the CoC will probably there. The nuka Cola factory too.
The abbey (I will take the one from Killap if he allows me to) no change.
The Glow: All maps a little modified. The ghoul took over. That’s Dayglow for me.
Junktown. Nothing done yet. Don’t know what changes to do.
Adytum. Nothing done yet. Don’t know what changes to do.
Redding, Military base, Toxic cave, EPA, they played their roles and won’t appear. Some of the maps may be modified and used for some other location.
The SAD will be modified and reused for some Robcorp facilities.
I don’t know for Necropolis. I never was able to save the ghouls anyway. Still haven’t mad up my mind.
I am very likely to loose interest in moding in a few months or so, so don’t expect anything big from me. But I promise you that when I quit I will upload all my work (for now maps mostly), so that others people may use it.
Btw, if you have ever played with the mapper, don’t hesitate to send me your work, I take anything, ( I am mostly looking for towns).

Here is an Überman, otherwise known as Overman, they are from a new faction, I will speak again of it in the design document. And no they are no Nazis. And yes, this guy can walk, and shoot from fast any weapon. Ultimatly, the player will be able to wear this black combat armor (still some frm missing), if I find out how to make the script.
Here are some npc appearance. I just made the standing appearance. If you attack them, the standard one take the place.

Some other robed character may also appear. And I hope to finish all the frm of the black robed guy in one or two month. Then I will see if I do the blue combat armor with a rifle for the NCR police, and I really would need the camo one for the ncr army. I saw some nice work somewhere, will have to check with their authors.

The probability that I will lose interest in moding in a few month is very high. But if it happens, I promise I will upload my work (mostly maps)somewhere for other modders to use.
If there are enough people interested, I will ask for a subforum, where I will present each design document, so the one who want could make some dialogue, quest, script, help with the story, etc, etc without having to be part of a team. A sort of open project, if you want, but it could spoil you the mod.
And that will do it for a first post I think.
