Awaken 1.41d checked - few problems and new ideas, Questions

Hi to all, I checked Awaken in 1.4 version and in 1.41d version - I hope some people played the 1.41d

What was great success in this small update -

Armors are better, it's good because I had extreme problems with anyone at the start of the game and later, weapons have much bigger damage than normal and we need better armors for this. That was good idea.

Suehe now is normal companion and can wear armors. Great point!

Cutting map with no needed places - ok.


That was things that I firstly recognized.


Now i want to say few things about Awaken and what would be great change. Because I really liked this project I think we should go further. It's bad that I'm stupid and can't do it by myself. I know sh*t about modding but I played many of them if we count mods for FO2.

1. I'm not the lame player and I still realy like the game. But I have to admit fighting with anyone on the start of the game was a 80% chance of death. Evrybody was shooting better than me, fighting and have more hp. I was dying after 1 to 2 shots always on the beginning.

I think problem is not about power of weapon because it's giving more realistic look. Problem is with enemies that are too good.


First city we should met is Oasis. Quests are quite easy, nobody is realy hostile. But Smokers shoot like S.A.S. soldiers. There is no way they will miss me with their guns. In melee fight I'm like a small kid. 3-4 hits and I'm dead too. Problem is with balance. I can uderstand that Brotherhood of steel soldiers will hit almost every time with their guns. But smokers in Oasis? I feel like their shooting skill is the same.

This is problem in shortcut - Enemies that should be fighting like pussies fight like a real soldiers in melee and with guns.

2. Random Encounters... Somethimes I don't even move after one random encounter and meet another one. Hello? This is wasteland? Most people are dead, I feel like I'm in china with those encounters. They should be really rare not something that I get every second when I ride through desert. Please change that because It's really annoying.



3. Companions -

First look - The Dog is unusable in any way, he can't keep many things, If he will fight with someone he will die in a second.

His S.P.E.C.I.A.L. should be changed dramaticly

Full Endurance Full agility 6 luck Full strength. Charisma inteligence and perception should be on very low lvl. This is only my suggestion because I couldn't use this dog in anything because he is so lame.

Companions should be more sraight about what they are good at.

Brotherhood Scribe Gisbourne should have - energy weapons

Tess - is okay, he is non combat very useful character because you don't have to spend your points on barter or outdoorsman but quest for her is too hard. Killing a deathclaw ?

You should have her after finding her husband, and later get quest for killing deathclaw. It was realy hard to me. On other hand quest for Gisbourne was ok, not too hard not too easy for a 3 - 4 lvl player ( me ).


Question about companions - Is there any Super Mutant or Ghul that you can have in Awaken? :D

Idea about companions - When you meet companion he is only one level lower than you. It would be very useful becuase when I was lvl 10 or 12 and I met Suehe he was piece of meet to throw at the enemy. It would be nice that I could use him against anybody when i get him in my team.


4. Cars where is trunk in Corvega? There are trunks in cars? And where could I find any other car than buggy or corvega? Where is my favorite Humvee ?





5. Missions few changes + map


Oasis should be on road to CBB because when I first time played i go sraight to the CBB with 0 experience and get killed fast.


CBB very annoying mission

First thing is that It would be nice to have information that you will need a rope to get out. :) It will be good to make a information about new task pop in left corner. When I first time get to CBB I was to weak to fight with those smugglers and they have rope :). ( Look again at point 1 )


Too small amount of dead people in the CBB. More bodies would be good thing even with a fact that most of them are cyborgs. A little more ammo in some places would be good in CBB. ( 10mm )

Next weird thing. When I was to weak to fight with smugglers - it would be nice that those soliders would kill them when going back. Now they just magicly dissapear. They should run same like us. In patch 1.41d they are unkillable. I have combat shotgun and a burst do nothing to them. I don't know why. Robots should not be all black, that looks stupid. Make them like normal cyborgs that will look much better and still have this nice history thing ( If you know what I mean ).


2. Next idea - I didn't saw something like shop update. When I bought from someone everything he had nothing till the end. Maybe shop update at level 10,20,30? :>


3. Weapons - Combat shotgun should have a little more range in 1.41d

Sniper Rifle - the cost of sniper shot and single shot is the same with trait fast shot 5 points. Single should be 4 and sniper 5


4. One more thing... Normal cursors i think was better and clearer than the fallout 2 for Tactics.

I will not write more because there are many things to change, I just want to see if someone want to still fight for upgrades in this great mod.


In big shortcut everything


1. Enemy skills balance

2. Small changes to companions ( that i met, i didn't find others than Suehe Gisbourne Iguana Killer and Tess )

3. Trunk in cars (especially in Corvega)

4. No random Encounters every 1mm on map.

5. Changes in CBB

6. Small changes to weapons

7. Shop updates



Good point in 1.41d was map update, armor update, suehe update and few other things.


I hope I will get some feedback.

Hi, big thanks to your feedback, I am an author of the 1.41d update to Awaken, I worked on it a years ago, so forgot some things until this days. I like your propositions to Awaken 1.41d, and your opinion and so big post are a motivation for me to return to modding FT, I mean working on next update to Awaken. Its a pity, that creators of Awaken are missing in real-life space-time, they could help a lot...

If you want, just write all your opinions about this mod, please :)

Cub2k, jako że znam twoje dzieła od bardzo dawna i jestem bardzo cichym obserwatorem wszystkiego co sie dzieje ze starszymi i nowszymi falloutami już jestem pełen podziwu dla twojej pracy. Jako że jesteś moim rodakiem będzie mi o wiele łatwiej się z tobą komunikować, niestety nie wiem w jaki inny sposób mógłbym Ci pomóc niż wytykać błędy w grze a naprawdę chciałbym.

Przeszedłem wszystkie części fallouta jakie wyszły na wiele sposobów i z wieloma różnymi modami. Pierwszy raz sięgnąłem po FO2 a potem po FO1, w podstawówce. Gra mnie oczarowała swoim klimatem, fabułą, i gameplayem. Teraz jak już się przedstawiłem będziemy robić tak że będę pisał najpierw po polsku a potem po angielsku dla innych forumowiczów jako iż wiem że Ty na pewno masz moc sprawczą. Sprawa która jest dla mnie bardzo bolesna - Okropnie ciężki dostęp do moda. Przynajmniej dla mnie. Nie ma go nigdzie za darmo, musiałem ściągać z chomikuj ze strony 13 schronu, oczywiście zapłaciłem bo wiedziałem że warto.


UPDATE DO POSTA : Mała rzecz a jednak mnie drażni - npc nazywa się crowa i w dodatku jego imię jest napisane małą literą. W polskiej wersji powinno być "Krowa" a w angielskiej "Cow". Ten mod ma naprawdę moc, wystarczy jeszcze go dopracować :)


Teraz kolejna rzecz która rzuciła mi się w oczy. Święte ziemie powinno dać się znaleźć dopiero po zajrzeniu w komputer w bazie wojskowej - Ja szukając miast po relokacji miast w 1.41d szedłem cały czas w lewo i już znalazłem świętę ziemie w ogóle nie powinno ich dać się znaleźć przed bazą wojskową.

Baza wojskowa... pod względem technicznym jako lokacja jest zrobiona genialnie bardzo mi się podobał system zabezpieczeń itp. Naprawdę super. Co mnie zdziwiło? Bardzo mała ilość super mutantów. Moją główną postacią którą zrobiłem specjalnie jako maszyna do zabijania mianowicie którą mogę sam wszędzie iść i z każdej opresji z każdym powinna wyjść zwycięsko, niestety taki build zajmuje bardzo dużo czasu.

Główne skille to otwieranie kradzież i small guns - w tej grze żeby mieć dobry start nie ma lepszych skilli. ( w moim mniemaniu )

Jako te które inwestuje bojowo - Walka wręcz i Energy Weapons


I tu się pojawia kolejny problem - tak jak uważam że dostęp do energy weapons jest w idealnym momencie... Tak do jakiś znośnych melee weapons praktycznie w ogóle nie ma dostępu. Walka wręcz nie ma tu żadnego sensu, szczególnie na początku bo każdy i tak zrobi z Ciebie włócznią czy pistoletem sito. Bardzo mnie to boli że praktycznie nie ma żadnego dostępu do broni w walce wręcz a wielokrotnie potrzebowałem czegoś z niezłym kopem, uważam że w wieży Michaiła powinien być dostęp do power fista albo czegoś z czym dałoby się komuś chociaż paznokcie nadgryźć a w mieście handlu powinno dać się też coś kupić z dmg na poziomie 30 - 40 z łapy. Np. Z odpornością na konwencjonalne obrażenia na poziomie 80%~ mogę szybko podejść do kogoś z big gunsem i go stłuc na kwaśne jabłko. Niestety bez żadnej znośnej broni podejście do super mutanta z minigunem kończy się tym że ledwo go łaskocze.


No i w końcu dojdę do sedna jak już powiedziałem o broniach do walki wręcz. W bazie wojskowej jest ciut za mało mutantów. Brakuje mi tak z 15 - 20 sztuk jak na tak ogromną lokacje. Ale to mogę się nad tym rozwinąć później - było mi trochę za łatwo nie licząc 3 mutantów - jedno miejsce co stoi dwóch - jeden z plazmą a drugi z rakietnicą - jestem za słaby póki co na tę dwójke - muszę użyć granatów to mogło by ich solidnie wykurzyć z pomieszczenia. Plus ostatni mutek Noeh? Dwie serie i po mnie. No ale to rozumiem.


Może zabrzmi to dziwnie ale trzeba ogłosić tego moda - np. na 13 Schronie zrobić jego osobny dział z Solucją ciekawostkami i misjami. To byłby świetny sposób na ożywienie moda. Napisze do 13 Schronu jako że jest to gigantyczne kompendium fallouta o świetnym zapleczu informacyjnym.

We should not have possibility to find saint grounds before we find their coordinates in Military Base, after update I just go left left left and I found it. It makes main topic go to fast. In Military Base there should be 15- 20 super mutants more for such big location. I can explain further why but first... Some feedback is needed from you. :)



I Found cow in special encounter, it's very usefull because of big number of things that she can keep but her name is bad writted in polish it should be "Krowa" and in english "Cow". ( I don't know how it's writted in english version I only played the polish one ).

I have mission with finding a bandit named Lucio in New Chicago, I don't have any clues, realy stuck on it. I "raped" all city to find him and nothing... Don't know what to do.


I broke in to Gerrard shop in New chicago, it's weird that he don't have anything in his closets.

The guards of Bank do nothing if i broke in from the inside of the bank to safe even when I'm not sneaking. There should be something like zone of attack when they see you on it
if you know what I mean. I painted places where should be attack zone if they spot you. And when I try to open the doors from the inside with my lockpick it should trigger the attack.

Another thing - When I get to any city, I don't know anything. Evrything is so... Nonamed. I don't know where are shops I don't know anything.


My idea about that - When i open my pipboy and click on map button. Just write what is what on map. Like in new chicago. We can do this in every location. That would be something that I would love and many other players too. We will know where to go if we want to buy something leave companions and other things. I remember in Fallout Tactics Single player - there were circles where is what. :)





Right now I have to go to my family on christmas, I have many more ideas to make this mod even better!

This is because game is about 10 years old when computers was several times slower, now needed a solution for decrease performance of CPU/GPU. There is a solution, "FPS_Limiter", which I'll attach in next release of patch.

It is not good to messing in STATs of companions entities. Creators had they idea, so it could mess a game a little.
However, I'll try to make changes:
- Gisbourne's Small Guns tag to Energy Guns tag
- Crowa - more HP's, more AP
- Suehe - better in melee/unarmed weapons
- Tess - something will change, dont know what? - changed quest with joining Tess, and with killing Deathclaw, as you wrote ;)
- Iguana Killer - more HP, better SPECIAL

I do not remember if there is ghoul or mutant as companion...

Cars, have always a trunk, just enter to car, and you can "barter" with cars trunk :)

Oasis - is near the route to CBB - it is in good place, just look everywhere during travel to CBB. There is on route another place - Miasto Plomieni (Flame City?)
CBB:
- will be information about rope, more ammo 10mm - will be,
- what do you mean: more bodies? What type of bodies? Civilians, Raiders, Soldiers?
- robots/cyborgs, named interially as "aliens" - all must be black, they are not normal robots, they are strange abnormal, effect of genetical experiments with aliens DNA code and advanced high-technology,
- soldiers probably MUST dissapear during fight with aliens - I will analyse this

Combat shotgun will have better range (15/18 - burst/single shot)
Sniper Rifle - I will make small investigate in their action points cost

The thing to do with lower priority
 
I would change Suehe to 6 luck that we could make him unarmed tank fighter. With 6 luck we could imply to him resistance 3 times ( 30% damage treshhold ) :)
 
Hi, big thanks to your feedback, I am an author of the 1.41d update to Awaken, I worked on it a years ago, so forgot some things until this days. I like your propositions to Awaken 1.41d, and your opinion and so big post are a motivation for me to return to modding FT, I mean working on next update to Awaken. Its a pity, that creators of Awaken are missing in real-life space-time, they could help a lot...

Hello, Cubik2k,

I want to try some modding and also do more bugfixes to Awaken. Is there any reason why you put many subfolders outside the "items" folder in the entities folder? I mean Food, Drugs, Enhancers etc. Then there are several versions of .ent files available in the Editor. It is hard to pick the right one to avoid duplicate items in inventories. Also tag names then will probably be broken for Give Items triggers etc.

Also do you have any unsolved bugs (any to-do list) for Awaken? I would try to fix them. Thanks.
