The main reason we don't like FOT is that it has the Fallout name branded to it, yet it stayes from the main story/setting (ie no gas/oil left in the world or just scares etc..etc..)...
Hm. I don't want to start the same discussion over and over again, but I still have some problems with the story/setting issue. Where in Fallout Tactics is it stated that the cars still run on gasoline? Nowhere. I agree that the exhaustion fumes are a dead give-away that such is indeed the case, but still. And the Gas Station special encounter isn't proof either, it doesn't really work, does it? It looks like it hasn't been in use since..., well, since the outbreak of the war. And what with all the...

Uhm...
Anyway, I was thinking this: what if Fallout Tactics would have been given a totally different name (let say, "Post-Apoc Troopers") and would have let out the name "Fallout" altogether? Wouldn't anyone have said: "Hey, hasn't anyone noticed yet that that new game, "Post-Apoc Troopers", is like really really influenced by Fallout?" You get the point.

I thought the graphics were uglier than the previous Fallouts, and I didn't like it's plot or adaption of the Fallout setting.
How can you possibly say that? The graphics of Fallout and Fallout 2 were nice in the nineties (when I still had a 15" screen), but when I play those games nowadays on my 19" screen, I find the graphics totally crappy. Fallout Tactics has superior graphics: higher resolutions, anti-aliased tiles, anti-aliased characters. Or wait, you are of course referring to the hairy Deathclaws, right? You hate all, all of the graphics in Fallout Tactics because the Deathclaws have hair and aren't reptile-like as they were in Fallout and Fallout 2? Hm. Right. Okay. I get it.
Last, but not least: I think I kind of agree with Swiffness. We can't possibly deny that there are some - not to say: a whole bunch - of Fallout-purists on NMA. I personally don't seem to care as much for the strict continuity of the setting and plot. I like the overall atmosphere of the Fallout universe. The loneliness, the deserted wastelands, the ruins, the drugs, the wacky weapons, mutants, ghouls, bordellos... These elements were present in Fallout Tactics as well. So they made a few mistakes, so some of the developers were probably morons, so what? They made a better effort than those f***-ups that are making FOPOS, right?

Bwah, you know how I think about it. I'll keep quiet (for) now.
